It just depends on how somebody likes to drive their vehicle. some people really like beating the piss of it a car and rev every gear out. Others like to be able to smoke tires from a dead idle. If you haven't ever driven a non-chevy Gm big block you might not understand. The buick 455 held the record for the most torque out of a production car for 20 something years. I think it was the viper that broke the record I could be wrong. It was only 360hp but made 525llbs/ft @ 3500 but redlined @ 4500 or 5000. I personly like loads of low end and mid range torque. I don't use the upper end hp.
I ride bike and really miss my Honda RC51(redline of 10K) with its V2 torque. The ninja 1000 (redline 13K) I ride now has an extra 40hp but street riding it is about the same or a little slower. Nothing like passing somebody without downshifting just rolling on the throttle and going from normal following distance/highway speed to passing their front bumper at 110 . |

There is something to be said about having a huge handful of torque available from the bottom to the top! Even driving the base model rentals from Hertz impressed me. The C6 feels big when you first drive it but after a little getting used to it is not so bad. Fit and finish are not on par with the 370 and G37 but the C6 is a monster that handles pretty D@mn well.

I've only driven older Vettes (from the 70's). They are a blast. I love the styling from that era. Maybe the Corvette will go retro like the Camaro and bring that style back?...Please?

I rev to 8600rpms in my RSX-S (with ecu tuning). That's the main reason I bought it, it revs up and down all day long

Has any 370 had a spirited run with a Corvette in the turns? As far as I know their drivers are intimidated by twisting turns.

how about the cadillac cts-v coupe? it's a cadillac with a corvette engine, so the quality has to be better than the corvette, right? the interior looks a lot better than the one in the corvette, imo.

I've always said that a Cadillac is just a Chevy with more chrome and leather bits and that there was no need for GMC, Pontiac, Buick or Oldsmobile. Just two brands, one common market, one high-end, like Toyota and Lexus. They almost listened to me. I know Corvette owners and drivers on both ends of the spectrum. Douchey mid-lifers who need a shiny penis extension and SCCA hotshoes who can make magic with the car. Same could be said for Z owners.

The newest model CTS-V does 0-60 in 3.9 seconds. That's pretty intimidating. It has that magnetic ride suspension, too, so it would probably outperform the 'vette given that it loses some weight. CTS-V coupe, anyone?

It's in the same class as M3/M5. It's a luxury coupe more than a corner carver. The vette would beat one around just about any track. |
