I don't get the anti-electric sentiment.
You can have peak torque at 1 RPM -- who wouldn't want that? All they need to do is figure out how to keep it running long enough (they're getting there) and you'll have blindingly fast, efficient, and clean cars. Car ethusiasts should be all for this. Combustion engines are last century's technology, and they are inefficient, dirty hunks of sh!t that force us to depend on foreign oil. Seriously now...
