Nissan 370Z Forum

When is the next body style Z due? This model looks dated and needs refreshed badly.

While Chevy can build a V6 with a lot more power at a cheaper cost? (I want a 370 but I expect Nissan to fix the little stuff the if you read the forum you will see is complained about over and over and over.)
When people refer to the design of this car, I see "beautiful" posted all over this forum. The car's only been out two years. How can you say it's overdue for a refresh?

What Chevy V6 is cranking out over 332hp currently?

Also, EVERY car has its recurring issues. There is no perfect option.

Never. I won't purchase a Korean car again. Family and friends have had nothing but horrible experiences with Korean cars.

You're right. The Chevy Camaro only has 312hp. But it does start around 23K to be fair.

A similar question could be asked regarding Nissan and Honda. What 4 cylinder does Nissan have that makes 237 horsepower?
Who cares?

That and the Ford 5.0 (equally impressive) is what the 370Z is being measured against. Not some domestic V6, although the V6 mustang does have similar performance regarding acceleration and was within a fraction of a second around VIR of the 370Z, 114mph governor that it bounced off of for 15 seconds in the straights not withstanding.

The 370Z is in need of a refresh. Not in looks, but performance. Looks are stellar. VQ series is getting old.
Excuse me, IC, but I was questioning the comment that "Chevy can make a more powerful V6 for less cost." The Camaro V8 is also quite heavier, not "comparable weight".

But there's a simple solution to all of this. If overbearing lights and outdated fangs are just too tacky, buy another car. Or if the car needs a performance refresh, just do like the convert here and look at Corvettes.

You're right. Did not see that you were responding to that one thing there.

The LS3 retails for $8200 and the VQ37 is around $8000, so my point still stands.

Talk about an outdated car? The Corvette is near the top of that list. Actually a great car but I can't get past the awful seats.

Wrong again. I have driven 3 of them. Drove it when it first came out. Yellow Manual with Sport, but zero discount so I waited. Drove a used one a year later that the dealer called me on, it was a rattle box, but I don't know it's history.

Then I went back recently and drove the Automatic. I was expecting to see some changes for the 2011 - yet nothing.

And I will NEVER forget my test drive in the Z. The salesman said that the car can go a long way even though the gas gauge says E. We went about 2 miles and the car ran out of gas. So I got to sit in the car for 1 hour until someone from the dealer came by with a gas can.

So your troll verification sucks. I have been a member here for years. I like the car, but I am waiting for the refresh to change a few of the items I don't care for.

I guess you never complain about anything or want anything to change. That's fine with me. But I like progress, if I wanted things to stay the same I would buy a classic 240Z. Or maybe a 90's 300TT.

If the seats are what are bugging you, that's really not such a big deal. Seats are easy to fix.

Truth.

Convert, are you still thinking Vette? I meant to ask, what trim/options/year?

I already bought.

2011 Z06, 1LZ package (2LZ got me blue tooth, heated seats, adjustable steering-wheel, a "memory" package, and the Bose sound system, which by all accounts is actually worse than the base system as the head unit doesn't have the wheaties for the extra speaker. Since none of that stuff did it for me, I just went 1LZ. If you are driving a car like this in weather that requires heated seats, you automatically fail).

Arctic white, competition gray rims, black head-lamp over-ride.

I am headed to Bowling Green to watch her roll off the assy. line this coming Monday. Here is a picture of someone else's car that is done exactly like mine.

Nissan currently produces the same number of 237 hp 4 cylinders that Honda currently produces.
