Thanks Robert - I got my Pearl White Z earlier this week using your VPP.

Robert_Nash 05-02-2009 10:09 PM

Thanks to everyone who have participated...the success stories are great to hear!

I can offer the VPP program through the end of June (June 30th) and the numbers are good for 90 days from the date of issue.

Hope that helps some with your planning.

When do they take the VPP number? When you sign for the car or when you put down a deposit if you're ordering it?

I really don't know that for sure.

My best (somewhat) educated guess is that you don't need the actual VPP claim number until you are ready to actually buy/take delivery of the vehicle; not when you order it. The numbers expire 90 days from the date they are issued and orders can certainly take longer than that so using the number when you take delivery is what makes the most sense.

I would make sure, however, that the dealer you are ordering from agrees (hopefully in writing) that he will sell the car under the VPP program when the vehicle does arrive...in other words, make sure you get your deposit back if the dealer changes his mind.

I've processed about 50 requests at this point but other than those who have emailed or PMed me and/or mentioned it here in the thread; I don't have any way of knowing how many of those requests have actually resulted in sales.

Thank you Robert for the opportunity to purchase this beauty for $125 less than invoice price! Your prompt response allowed me to pick up the car on saturday, after only finding the car and applying for the loan on thursday. Your efforts are much appreciated.

Base + sports package, kick plates, splash guards, & mats. Drove 125 miles to pick it up yesterday.

My pleasure...enjoy your new Z!

Robert sent it to me the next day

Next day, and it worked great. I thought the dealer might give us a hard time about the deal, but they seemed really happy about it. We picked her up last week.

Thanks Robert!

Robert_Nash 05-10-2009 03:35 PM

I appreciate everyone that has participated!!!

I try to address these at least once a day but sometimes it does take me a bit longer...I've also noticed that some direct emails have got to my junk email folder (this has happened at both at my personal and my work accounts) so it can be possible that I've missed someone.

If that's happened I do apologize and if anyone doesn't get a reply from me quickly enough please do feel free to PM or email me again.

Thanks again...I hope everyone who has purchased truly enjoys their new Z (or whatever they bought). :)

AshburnZ 05-10-2009 10:06 PM

Just wondering if this is still going on, as I am looking to get one of these within a few weeks. I will send a PM. Thanks in advance if it is!

Robert_Nash 05-14-2009 09:58 PM

Yes...still going on; through June 30th.

Robert_Nash 05-14-2009 10:02 PM

Folks; I owe someone an apology...my problem is that I don't know who!

Someone (female I believe) emailed me at my personal email address regarding this program and I inadvertently deleted her email before responding...I believe someone familiar with this thread but I'm not sure if she herself has read this thread or not.

I just finished up the requests I had waiting so if anyone is still waiting on a reply from me and hasn't received one yet, please PM or email me again.

If someone here referred someone to me; you might want to check with them to see if they've received a reply from me and if they haven't; please ask them to write again.

Thanks!

Don't know if I missed it posted already but will these apply to the NISMO if it's out in time (and the dealer participates)?

The only Nissan or Infiniti vehicle the VPP program cannot be used for is the GT-R; every other vehicle is in the mix.

However, it is totally voluntary on the Dealer's part...some dealers won't participate at all on any vehicle; some will participate on, say, a Maxima but not on a 370, etc.

However, I believe if you call around, you'll find a dealer who will participate on whatever you want to buy although for anything in high demand; you may have to work a little harder at it to find a dealer who'll work with you.

I was wondering if it was an all-or-nothing type plan. Ford used to have an A plan that was like that. Thanks for the info!

jginnane 05-15-2009 03:33 PM

The countdown is now at 168 hours ... (until pickup; pearl white / persimmon / 7AT ;)

Robert's VPP pricing plan saved me a few hundred dollars over the best-possible numbers I was getting from overstock.com. Because of the way the program works, the dealer makes more money and the car doesn't cut into his Z allocation (if there is one).

If you have a salesman who says "no", re-confirm with his manager. Then run a build on overstock.com, and you'll find dealers in your neighborhood who are already committed to some discounting ... and want your business.

Thanks again, Robert!

Hi Robert - what happens after June 30th? Does the program end?

Robert_Nash 05-15-2009 06:16 PM

The VPP program always exists but usually I can only issue a handfull of numbers per year (including any I use for myself)

Robert, in this area where, as you know, there's a Nissan dealer in every village, I have yet to find a Nissan dealer who is not willing to take the VPP on a 370Z. One dealer emphasized, though: "Since the 370Z is still a high-volume model, we won't be willing to take any off beyond that."

Last night, I asked the sales guy and he said, "Sure! And if you forget your certificate, I can fix you up with one myself." (He was going for your lottery number!)

By the time we left, his conscience had got the best of him. He brought it up: "Now, if you want to use your friend's certificate, I want to encourage you to do that rather than using mine."

Just wanted to say thanks to Robert -- I picked up my Z last week. I'm loving it!! The program allowed me to get the fully loaded one in the showroom. Thanks again!!

FlashBazbo 05-16-2009 07:34 PM

Thanks, Robert! The whole process went very easy and smooth. My Z comes home Monday morning!

That's great! Will you be at ZDayZ this year? http://www.zdayz.com/

Check out the Middle Tennessee Z club as well: http://www.middletennesseezclub.com/

FlashBazbo 05-16-2009 09:40 PM

I won't be at ZDayZ. Previous commitments. Looks very cool. Incidentally, at work we had five guys in town from Aruba last week. To my surprise, they all knew about the Tail of the Dragon and they all were disappointed we didn't have time to go.

I will have to look further into the Middle Tennessee Z Club.

Sorry you won't be there but the road is there all year. :)

There is another group I "hang out" with that are general sports car enthusiasts and we try to organize at least one ride a month...since most of them are in the Knoxville area the Dragon get's a lot of our attention!

You can find the group here: SportsCarFrenzy - Home

Modshack 05-18-2009 05:18 PM

I was just out at the Dragon 2 weeks ago in my Car that Robert Helped me buy! Awesome roads...If you have the chance, make it!

Here I am doing a ricer flyby of my friends Stasis outfitted Audi A3 with a TT buddy in the mirror. It's hard to find a road that the 370 doesn't like in that part of the country!

I caught up everyone's pending request early this morning - I believe I have one request to do yet and I'll finish that up this evening.

As I'll be traveling over the holiday weekend I likely won't be processing any more until after the holiday but if anyone decides they have to buy a new Nissan/Infiniti this weekend please feel free to email me and let me know that it's urgent and I'll do my best to process the request.

Thanks to all and have a safe holiday weekend!!!

bloodo 05-25-2009 06:45 PM

Thanks Robert for helping everyone out. I hope you could someday receive a wonderful gift for what you are doing.

I am looking to buy a new 370Z around July. So, I will probably hit you up in the near future before June 30s.

DNadar 05-26-2009 09:24 PM

you think you could get my interest rate down to 2.9%??

I'm waiting until they have some sort of special and offer 2.9%, then i'll have a Z in the garage, next to my brothers g37s!

Robert_Nash 05-26-2009 09:42 PM

I'm afraid I have nothing to do with financing rates. :)
