Default Worst problem about the Z imo

Im not sure if Im the only one having this problem but when Im backing out from parking, I can NOT see my 4~5 o'clock due to the limited views.

It really is a gamble for me when I back out because of the blind spot. I crawl out, ever so slowly, and pray to god that there isnt a car coming that can strike my @ss from the right.

Looking at my left side (7~8 o'clock) isnt a problem because I can easily tilt my head forward and have enough angle to get a clear view. Its the right side and right side ONLY that I have a huge blind spot about the Z.

A porsche gt3 (my neighbors) had to swurve out of the way for me when I was backing out from my own house today. I looked and LOOKED and confirmed that there was no car coming when I was about to back up. I guess the blind spot 4~5o'clock gap was so huge that the porsche was still traveling through the blind spot which gave me the confirmation that I looked long enough for me to back up.

I'd rather have a side view camera then a rear view camera hands down.

During my short experience with the 370Z (a few test-drives), I can agree, the blind-spot is a bit of an annoyance. Not a deal-breaker, but you need to give things "time" to move through it/be sure there is nothing there before you move the car.

Just adjust your side mirrors, get some blind spot mirrors and be careful, FIXED!

Blind spot mirrors help. If you are worried about backing out into traffic, just do it very slowly and wait for someone to honk their horn.

Also, I always reclined the passenger seat such that the head rest was behind the passenger side quarter window so I could see.

This is a pretty obvious hindrance to anyone who's driven or sat in the car. Many sports cars suffer the same problem.

It's all about being patient and backing up slowly.

When merging, it's also about utilizing the gas peddle a little bit more.

Blind spot mirrors help a ton for merging. You can see everything. I know some people hate on how they look, but to me the function far outweighs the form.

^ Can't agree more, I find myself throttling up when I change lanes, just to be sure that no one is there ...

FYI.I personally back up and park with the front facing, so I can see whats it front of me. I do this at my house as well, since I had a narrow miss from my neighbors car. No worries now.

Five things that scare me the most with the Z:

1. Parallel park and scratch the wheels(I have the sports package).

2. Parallel park in front of a crowded coffee shop while everyone is watching me.

3. Back out of a parking space and not see the oncoming pedestrian/car.

4. Change lane on the freeway.

5. Someone opens their car door and dent my Z.

Nobody wants to curb their wheels ever. This is not a fear specific to the sports package.

Meh. I curbed mine. Consider them custom time attack stripes.

The good thing is the silver paint is easy to match so if you do curb a rim it can be repaired rather cheaply and easily.
