it depends on person to person. even so I wouldn't of been able to get a car at 16 since the minimum age here is 18.

If I had one when I was 16 I wouldn't of wrecked it.

All I was trying to point out was that even if the op drove perfectly he will be parking his car in a high risk area frequently. At my school there were two types of cars, beaters like mine and the cars mommy and daddy bought for their kid. More often than not the cars involved in the accidents at school were bought by mommy and daddy. Those of us that bought our own cars, the beaters, had a larger personal investment and did our best to keep the car operating as long/best as possible.

yes but those cars that got in a accident probably were owned by kids who like to DURIFTO AND BE FAST & FURIOUS.

I learned on a Honda Accord (160 hp) at age 15, then drove a V6 Camry (200hp) at age 18-20, now I drive the 370z (332 hp) at age 21. I moved up slowly through the hp range, and I'm still learning to drive my Z.

I consider myself to be pretty mature and responsible, but when you're that young, there's no doubt that you'll get in trouble with the 370z because you'll have the urge to drive fast. I got a ticket a month after I got my license, and I've learned my lesson. You'll want to floor it when Mustangs/Camaros/whatever pull up next to you at a red light and rev their engine. It's hard to say what one accident can do to you because you're going from 140hp to 332hp, which is a huge leap.

My recommendation is that you get a Genesis 2.0T/Civic Si/328i coupe, those are around 200 horse power and great looking cars. I personally think you're more concerned with the look of the car than the performance/handling.

No matter what car you get, drive responsibly and use your head.

those depend on your own mental state.

Neither have I, I'm working too hard to pay for the the car to do stupid things with it. I agree that it does depend on the person, but when people get their first car, most of the time, they get a bit too excited.

Honda fit. IMO it would be a great starter car. I'm planning to get my son a the fit. I'll let him mod it out too!

Ok now. We were all 16 once and let me say this...if my parents were willing to buy me a car like the Z, I would have taken it in a heart beat no second thoughts. So don't hammer this kid it ain't his fault. Also if I am making the kind of money where I could go out and buy my kids a car like the Z when they are 16 I would consider it after a time with a break in car maybe as a grad present. But don't hate them because they have $30k to invest in a 16 yr old driver.

Yeah, those are the kids that are born with the Silver Spoon up their As$ess' and don't appreciate working to earn a damn thing.

They will never learn to appreciate a car or anything since everything is giving to them.

Even if I could my kid is not getting a sport car, not even close. Study, work and learn how to earn what you want!

Thats ********, Jose. I was born with a silver spoon up my *** and have appreciated all my cars... The ones my parents bought me or the ones i have worked hard to buy myself... It doesn't matter. I appreciate them all the same.

To the OP... The Z will be fine if you aren't an idiot. All of us were 16 once and know all the stupid crap we've done. If you get a car like the Z you literally have to survive, because you will do stupid **** and the Z is not a forgiving car for an idiot. Just keep that in mind... If you want to live, don't be an idiot.
