I disliked SRM, and that's mostly why I bought a base model. It doesn't jive with my shifting style. I move the shifter around a lot. When I was test driving a Z with SRM on, the engine was having a fit. "blip blip VROOM blip :engage gear: vroom"

I have driven manual cars for the last 15 years and I really like the SRM. Sometimes it's nice just to cruise around and not have to work so hard. You can always turn it off and go back to heel-toe. IMO Nissan hit a home run with SRM.

Well for the $3000 you get a lot more than just SRM.

brakes, lsd, and a couple of aesthetic touches. Yes, I know. Still wasn't worth 3k to me.

It looks like the people who didn't want it just got the base model without sports package. Wow. Why not just get the sports package and turn SRM off? The 19" rays, BBK, and spoiler are worth it alone...

In your opinion. My opinion is different. The rays rims and spoilers are aesthetic, so I could care less. I like how the car looks without them just as much. The BBK is an improvement, as is the LSD. Wasn't a 3k package to me. Opinions can differ on the subject.

The 3000 package for me was the bigger brakes, lsd, and better wheels.. srm was an extra. Yeah I want to go aftermarket but for now I'm satisfied with the brakes lsd n wheels

where the hell is this thread going

i like my SRM, when i'm lazy at 2 AM coming back from somewhere it comes in handy, when i'm too sleepy to realize i'm not driving my DD.

i do need to turn it off more often though. i forgot how to heel toe nicely

id get the base without sportpackage if i knew i was going to mod it with my own bits.

the Z's sportpackage is just a conveninece package for people like me who want the bits without the hassle of modding. i do a lot of DIY on my cars, but on the Z i thought the stock setup with sport package was good enough for street.

the package is actually pretty damn good imho...especially if you bought the car at invoice like me.
