Anyone having a problem with their driver seat moving around with aggressive driving?
I had one of my techs help me look at it and it looks like there is a problem with the seat frame. Everything that can be tightened is tight, but there seems to be movement inside the track at the foot (right front). I let them know that but all they said was they tightened it!! I know that couldn't have happened since we already did that. I think the seat frame needs replacing or there is a shim missing at the foot! Just curious if anyone else is having a problem!
BTW: The passenger seat doesn't budge at all!! Thanks!! :driving: |
I haven't experienced this.
|
I have this problem too.

What model you guys have? Base or Touring? Because the seats are different and I'm wondering if it's specific to one seat vs. the other.

I'll be bringing it back since I only have 900 miles on the clock! |
I have Touring. So depending on what zZZzzZZZZZZ has, perhaps we've stumbled upon a problem with the seats in the Base model?
|
Mine are good.

I have touring trim and no problems.

My touring seats have to problems at al, except that they're so comfortable i never want to leave my car haha
|
no problems with touring. is the base model suede in the middle?

Sport/Touring and no problems.
|
I too have this problem. I have the base model with sport package. It happens when you make a quick left then right turn or vice versa. Annoying, but I shouldn't complain since I have done nothing to address the issue.
|
I'm beginning to see a pattern here. Touring model seats = no problem. Base model seats = problem.
|
Wasn't this a common problem on the G35's?

I'm wondering if this driver seat play is inherent to the design of the base seat brackets/sliders or just isolated to a few cases. |
Same problem here. Base model with sport.
|
complain to nissan directly? although, they would probably address the issue with the 2010 model.
|
Very Annoying!! It now happens all the time with normal driving! :shakes head:
|
Exactly as described. I have a base btw.

I have a base, I havent noticed it. And now Im almost afraid to "look for it", in fear of finding the problem that I didnt have before--that is one of the negatives on being on a forum like this :icon14:
|
Errr...now I am thinking of spending the extra cash for touring with nav (was going with base and by aftermarket nav) just so I do not have this issue....hmmm.
|
I have a base with sport package and my seat seems to be fine.
|
If you want to check, just grab the base seat cushion front and back with both hands and attempt to move it back and forth. If you hear or feel anything at all, there is a problem! If you do the same on the passenger side it doesn't budge and not a lick of knock noise (in my case anyway) that's a good comparison!! The seat should absolutely not move!! (bolted to subframe)
I'm sure it's just a shim or spacer in the track that's needed! |
Ok, I take it back. It does click a little bit to the side. I almost wouldnt even call it movement, and it's definitely not anything to worry yourself about, almost feels more like a one-time clicking sound.
|
This morning all I had to to is just drive forward to make the seat move!
|
They have had my car all day and they are saying that it's normal for the seat to move while driving my particular vehicle! I have never heard of such a thing!!! All vehicles require the seat to be anchored tight with zero movement for safety! I have a powerful agile sports car which really requires a tight seat!! I can't believe they aren't just trying to order a new seat frame first!! We would never do that where I work!! Talking to the sales manager tomorrow!
|
OMG what a load of crap. Which dealership is this, if you don't mind my asking?

Just keep arguing until they finally give in, mate - because they will collapse eventually. You have moral support! edit - name & shame the dealer when you're ready - they really are taking the piss. |

Semtex, It's Team Nissan in Marietta on Cobb Parkway! They have been easy to deal with in sales...just starting to deal with service now...I'm guessing The sales manager will get things handled! I'll know tomorow when he is back from his day off! |
So you got them to install the cargo cover for you on a base? I still want this done. Can you tell what they're installing, and what parts you got them to order. Thanks.

They put in a call to Nissan North America (local rep) about my seat! I understand how it works so I'll leave it at that for now. They did say that some of their other cars do that also... oh well. It was just nice to get here back!! |

As for the seat, I now realize that my base model does the same thing. Thanks for that  Really, I dont feel it moving, I just hear or feel a "click" and that's it. I wouldnt call it a bother just yet, but we'll see. |
Quick Update: I have a friend who works in Nissan Marketing. She is going to check into the driver seat movement issue I am having!! If you have the problem make sure to have a dealership look at it! There shouldn't be any movement with the seat. I still have the problem. :shakes head:
I'll let you know if anything comes of it! |
I have it as well but the movement is really minuscule at the moment. But after breaking a seat bracket on my G35 by driving it at the Auto-X I know this will be becoming a problem. Any movement is bad and will lead to failure of the bracket.
Forgot to mention that I also have the Base w/Sport. |
I also have the same movement. My car is a Base w/ SP.:shakes head:

Hiya folks. Sorry, I don't have a 370Z. I have a 2009 Nissan Maxima, and over on the Max forums, many of us have the exact same issue. We were provided a link here and figured I'd return the favor. You all aren't alone in the "rocking" issue....
I've taken mine in, dealership noticed the issue, replaced the whole seat frame, and yet, same issue. My first problem. - Page 3 - Maxima Forums |
