Here is a biased timeline for when you should have a Z.
1. 18-22 -- rich or parents bought it for you. Go for it 2. 22-26 -- pay off your damn student loans first 3. 27-33 -- first good job after college -- Z time Branch point M = Married S = Single D = Divorced 33-38(M) -- buy furniture, curtains and a minivan -- no Z ![]() 33-38(S) -- buy video games and a motorcycle. Got a garage? Get a Z 39-48(D) -- wife took furniture and curtains -- still got garage? Get Z 39-48(S) -- take a social skills class and get a date (jeez are you picky or just ugly) Branches Merge 49-60 -- tell kids to pay for their own damn college -- get a Z 61-70 -- tell grandkids to pay for their own damn college -- get a Z and a Porsche (80-89) ![]() ![]()

Nope, not too old. I'm 55 and have always driven some type of performance car and hopefully always will. To me though, a Corvette driven by guys in their mid-40's to mid-50's says "mid-life crisis". My neighbor is 72 and has a twin turbo 300Z plus a G35 with a Stillen intake and some type of aftermarket exhaust system, and every time he sees me in the driveway washing my 370Z he comes over and tells me he's thinking of trading in the G35 for a new Z.
When I was younger my nightmare was to have to own a minivan with child seats and now my nightmare is to have to own a grandpa car like a Buick or Oldsmobile. Don't listen to your buddy. Test drive a Z, if you like it buy it and don't look back. And by the way, I get lots of compliments from 30-something soccer moms about my car, I think it doesn't have the negative connotation that a 'Vette has when they see a guy in their '50s driving one. |

I fall into number 1. I am 21 years old.. Don't really have rich parents but I live at home for free and only have a cell phone bill. So I have a bunch of cash to spend.. I'm just looking to finance a new Z for no more than 48 months and paying about $150-$200 extra on top of my regular payment. I do this with the G and its helping me pay it off way faster. Feels so good to have no more car payments on my old G in a few months. Then its time so save for a decent down payment.

You're never too old for a Z, only as old as you act and feel

Drive what you want, there are no "age limit" on cars. Though the Z tend to suit better on younger guys (30s,20s). Im currently 68 and I love my z!....jk im only 20. And I dont rely on my parents on this car. Bought her all by myself at age 19 (actually my parents paid half the down payment on my b-day). But reguardless, Im making my own payments. The real question is.....am I too young for this car?

I just bought my 370. Let's say I am old enough to have owned one of the first 240Z's that were sold in the U.S. When I bought it, there was a 6 to 9 month waiting list to get one. I got mine sooner by taking a weird orange color Nissan had that year.
I figure I will be too old for my Z when I can no longer get myself in and out of the car. Also, the Z isn't really that cheap anymore. Mine cost over $40k before I added new tires, backup camera, invisible bra, SS brake lines, etc. I figure I am in the low end of Porsche territory now. Most of all, who cares what anyone thinks. I am very happy with my Z and I don't give a $#%@ what anyone else thinks aobut it. |
