The Mustang is only a couple hundred pounds heavier than a Sport+Touring 370Z Coupe. The Camaro and Challenger are several hundred pounds heavier than the Mustang.

Weight be damned, I still want the Boss 302.

the thing though about power.. weight all that is that its all relative. Yes lower weight could be nicer and higher hp could be nicer.. but its all relative to the design and engineering of the car as a whole. So much goes into how the power is put to the ground, the gear ratio's, aero dynamics, etc etc etc etc etc. that well in the end, people just have to go out and run the cars.
Not saying that a car with 336hp and weights 10,000lb's can beat a 370z but when people knacker over 100lb's or 15 hp in completely different cars.. ehh its a useless arguement. Thats why i spent about 3 months test driving different cars each weekend. P.S The g8 is an awesome car. A manual 6.0 GTO is also a ton of fun. |

Camaro is way too heavy and styling is still too "Transformers" for me! I'd feel really goofy driving one too. There is just something about modern era Chevy muscle cars that doesnt click with me. I loved the Z28 from the late 60's but they just look odd now. |

Speed has a pretty awesome 1 hour special about the making of the new Boss, it was very cool. I think it airs again next Saturday.

That's for the base. The Sport + Touring brings it up over 3,300 lbs. So I was a little off.
And a SRT-8 Challenger is over 4,000 lbs.

Yeah, I didn't have exact numbers (didn't feel like searching that much), but I figured they would be close enough. It's a shame the Challenger is such a pig, because looks wise, I like it the best out of the three revival "Muscle" cars. Less weight and a lower roof line (and of course better handling) would make it more of a real competitor.

The Boss 302 is still hawt. And to your point, what is it with the Challenger being so tall? I do not get that. Last edited by Endgame; 01-13-2011 at 03:57 PM. |

yeah i got to drive the camaro SS a bit, friend has one. and its got a nice torquey rush to it.. but honestly thats it. The interior was soo bad.. just bad. Sure its got back seats but they aint easy to get to or super comfy. The trunk is okay. When i was shopping though for a car, I didnt even look at them. Instead I was considering a G8 gxp. same kinda power, but real back seats and a real trunk and a much nicer interior. Probably weighs less too and based of the same platform.
