Gang, Got a question. I've had Datsun and Nissan "Z's" for several years and have never seen an "ed" after the "Z" emblem on our cars......... Have any of you,

Question "Zed".....?
Gang,

Got a question. I've had Datsun and Nissan "Z's" for several years and have never seen an "ed" after the "Z" emblem on our cars......... Have any of you, I didn't think so...! So why is it that whenever I watch the English TV show "Top Gear" or speak to a Canadian, they refer to the "Z" as a "Zed"...? It's always been just "Z" to me. Anyone have an answer? I sure don't know...........!

The letter Z originates from the Greek alphabet. The Greeks pronounce the letter as zeta. The English pronounce it Zed. The Japanese pronounce it Fairlady Ze-to.

Right, the pronunciation is for the actual letter "z", not just the car.

British people pronounce Z as Zed, its kinda cool actually. They also pronounce H's as well.

We actually pernounce is like "Zee" which is not all that different from "Zed". The letter Z really sounds more like "Zzz".
