A/C and WOT

i have never noticed this happen, i guess i'm not paying attention to my climate control when i'm flooring my car, but its smart that they do it.

I too so rarely use the A/C, I often wonder if it will still works, months between usages. I never noticed it in my 300 ZX either, although I do remember turning it off in anticipation of spirited driving.
I am in medium thick fog today @ 52* and plan on trying A/C cutoff this morning.
I hope mine is not broken like Red370's, although my cars diapers have not needed changing thus far.

the day i don't use AC if its hot as hell out, is the day i gut my interior to make my car lighter.

you can still have a good nut sweat with the AC on if you use the seat warmers!

When I'm driving spirited, the windows go down and the A/C will be off, regardless of outside temps.

I read somewhere that the drag caused by having the window open consumes more power than having the aircon on.

You'd have to be going pretty fast for it to make a really noticeable difference.

Also window's down A/C off burns more fuel than window's up and A/C on. Seen it on mythbusters

Mythbusters FTW! Remember the episode where they put clay on the exterior of a Ford Taurus and dimpled the surface so it was like a golf ball? Gas mileage increased.
