A/C and WOT
 

One of the features of the NSX for better performance and MPG is it automatically turns off the Air Conditioner at wide open throttle.

Does anyone know if the 370Z has a similar feature?

Yes, the Z has had it through the 350Z.. will disengage the A/C compressor during WOT..

I think most all cars do this...

My $13K Honda civic does this.


although if it didn't it would take 2 weeks to get to 50mph.

yep, its called a wide open throttle cut-out relay.

My 20 year old TwinTurbo even does this.

I dunno gentlemen, my car still shyts its pants when I have the AC on and I try to pass on the freeway... and no, its not driver error :)

Well then you should sell it and buy a Z.

I'm sure your engine is having to work 10x as hard as all of ours to be able to power the stereo and blast that Astley at volume 150. :rofl2:

i have never noticed this happen, i guess i'm not paying attention to my climate control when i'm flooring my car, but its smart that they do it.

I've never noticed but I never use ac anyway

A/C is for babies. A man should have a good sweat on the nuts when the weather warms up!
