if you lose your key you go to the dealership (with the car somehow) and then they get two new fobs and use there fancy dealer only computer to reprogram it all, if you don't lose that little metal rectangle with some numbers on it that came with your car then they don't have to replace all the mechanical locks either so keep that baby in your dresser at home (if you didn't think it was just some part tag deal and throw it out like most owners). It's a pain and it will cost you lots of money, and it will be the worst day of your life and totally screw your plans.
