I didn't get the sports package.
Here's why: 1) I personally think the rear spoiler ruins the lines of the car 2) I live in LA where the front spoiler would have been destroyed in a week. Hell, the underside of the nose of my car is scratched up daily. 3) I like the design of the 18 inch wheels better, plus there'd be an increased cost to replacing tires, which I tend to do frequently 4) LSD - that i do miss, but if i wanted to would just buy that aftermarket 5) bigger brakes won't do much on the streets. plus the base brakes are quite good as is 6) synchro revmatch. a cool thing, for sure, but it's the first run of the first car to ever get it. i don't want to have to worry about it breaking in the future. more electronics means more that can break. Overall, I think the sport package is a terrific deal for the price, but to me, I figured it wasn't worth it and the extra money just covered the sales tax. Would I like some of those features, sure, but not enough. |

I got the sport package because it makes the car look 1000 times better, and to add all the stuff onto the car would be atleast 4000 if not more. Get it, if you dont you will most likely regret it. Unless you just dont care about your car and its just a way to get around. |

Totally. I've never had better brakes. In for a penny in for a pound.

The stock LSD is crap, ok for street, but nothing else. SRM is a cool option to have, the brakes are decent enough, overall for the 3 grand extra, for all you get, it isnt a bad option, however, I'd save the 3k and spend that on a new exhaust, hfcs, intakes and a programmer. And maybe one of them bobblehead chihuahuas or hula girl. Oh yeah, keep in mind, if you want to ever replace the stock LSD, which you will if you ever want to drift/autox, you have to purchase additional side shafts for the new system, not the case with a base differential housing.

Buy elsewhere then (keep the sport package in the deal). Forum sponsor Lou Fusz Nissan will sell you at invoice, (and ship for a reasonable cost if necessary). Check him out in the buying section. My Buddy here in town went through Lou and was very pleased with the transaction.

Well I did also buy a CBR600 right around the same time, so that's where the extra money went. But no, the extra 10 bucks a month the sport package would have cost did not factor into my decision. Plugging the holes after removing the rear spoiler did, and the fact that I didn't care for the rest of the features enough.
Yes, the 18 inch wheels suck. Of course. That's your take on it. The main advantage of bigger brakes is better heat dissipation so it takes longer for brakes to start fading. I've personally never had that problem on the street. Some people drive way more aggressively than I do and that would be important. Most people here probably love the rear spoiler. At least two of us don't. My above post was my view on it when purchasing my car and was giving him an alternate viewpoint from the poster above me. Just giving the original poster things to consider for himself. |
