yep, i just check nissanusa and saw they do offer both 6MT and 5MT depending on the trim. :)

that's quite a hauler you got there!

Hmmm, he was great communicating with me. Maybe he is tied up. I think both Z1 and Concept Z Performane have them. I think KamiSpeed carries them too.

What you think SPC or Ichiba?

Honestly, I haven't found any issues with ours. We have driven it in the sand all day in 100 deg heat, a/c crankin with no isssues. It's absolutely a tank. I don't even bother to air down in soft sand.

Thanks Ken! It's been really good to us. :tiphat: I think you also had to have the AT for decent control or whatever they call it.

I got the SPC and like am very happy with them. I doubt you would have issues with either.

I miss my old Xterra SE, that thing was cool.

The only problem that it had was a squeaky hood due to the rubber mounts being tightened too hard. The other problem was that people kept asking me to help them move which of course I refused every time :icon17:

/\ I hope it's for more than one night, $500 per night is pretty dang steep.

do xtrerra's come in MT at all? :)

Yes, they are available in a 6mt. As of 2011 they simplified the lineup since it's not a big seller and 2012 is most likely the last year until/if the next gen arrives. There's the X, S, and Pro4x which is an "offroad" but you can add the optional leather interior.

05 to 08's can have the radiatior/trans cooler issue where the radiator fluid eats into the trans cooler and it mixes, flowing into your trans and killing it. When you feel the symptoms, feel like your driving on rumble strips, it's already too late.

Trans cooler bypass mod (search thenewx.org) is a cheap/quick and easy fix.

In 09, nissan changed from matic J to matic S trans fluid and supposedly, this solved the corrosion problem. I got a letter a while ago for our 2010 Offroad X saying Nissan was providing us, and everyone else for that matter, with a 80K trans warrantee (I think that's what the mileage was) free of charge so they are aware of the issue but since it's such a slow seller/they're phasing it out, they areen't going to source a whole new radiator/trans cooler to really fix the problem.

that said, it's a great simple reliable and tough truck. If you want a true man's suv, this is one of the only one's left, (body on frame, true transfer case with low range, locking dana 44 rear diff etc).

Biggest - is that I can't do better than 16mpg average for mixed driving. (I do always ride with the a/c on though but still, that's pathetic).

I havent heard much about the Ichiba's on here. I believe most people are running the SPC's. Have not heard anything bad about them yet. What are you planning to drop your Z with??

BeachZTT 08-31-2011 07:11 AM

No 370 action for use today. Drove it out to get icecream last night. I have the TT today. Temps are down for the first time and what a differencte 20 degrees makes!

I need to get my Stillen intercoolers uncovered. I still have the modified stock guides in there and they block about 35% of the surface area defeating the big ICs. :ugh2: Maybe this weekend I will pull the nose off and put in my fog ducts and stillen guides. Still have some kind of a rattle at low rpm in first. Sounds like a heat shield but I don't have any b/c I am running test pipes.

Thanks FL! Realy good info. I haven't been on the thenewx.org in a while but I will be today!!! I really want a set of Schrockworks bumpers!!! I bought an extra wheel to replace the steel spare when we bought it just to put in on the swing away(that I never got). Then I started putting mod money back into the TT, then we bought the roadster, then I started modding it... Too many projects.

I agree that the mileage could be better but I got rid of a V10 4x4 Excursion Limited. Definately something to keep in mind though.

The only other issue is difficult entry into the rear doors. Not a problem for me as we seldom have anyone back there but it could be for someone else.

Oh, one thing I forgot. This thing is a freakin' rock magnet. On our fifth windshield. First on was two weeks after taking delivery.

The RE-11's are arguably the best tire. Supposedly they are very sticky, tough sidewalls and wear nicely. Not to mention- they look great.

Yes I got Tein S-Tech, not the much of a drop, but to be save I will get a rear camber kit.

Really? very cool. This is good to know.

How do the RE11's compare to the stock RE040s?

yah, but from what my receipt says and the amount of miles i drive per week on my G, my mpg is consistently 14.5-15mpg. yes, i like to ENJOY my commute and that means no laying off the throttle to blip and to rev high. :p

no z action today. our house is getting painted so need to keep the garage closed. hope the paint doesn't lock us inside after it dries. :icon17: ;)

To qualify: the best street tire, for the price in standard z fitments.

Much grippier, and a stiffer sidewall. Stocks are re050a's, btw.
