I had a lab class today this morning at the orange county sanitation district in fountain valley. I leaned up against one of the rails that had some sludge on it. I took no risks. I drove home damn near naked on the road. Then cleaned the interior.

i drove mine to work, got stuck in traffic and saw 2 other 370's stuck with me! twas a cool sight.

i forgot to share that last week i got gas at the local 76 (which also happens to be one of the few that sell 100 octane unleaded). got out of the car and a porsche pulls in on the opp side of my pump. i start pumping and walk behind his car to take a look at it. debadged so i asked what it was...Turbo? GT3? the guy grins and says, "no, GT2." truly marvelous car...996 GT2 with 750whp. he was putting in pure 100 octane @ $8/gallon. nice guy who complimented my Z as well :tiphat:

Drove it in to work, been driving in every day due to laziness

Been raining all week however and this car is not as enjoyable in the rain :( Heck, I actually just want to leave it in the garage on gross days...like I don't want her to suffer or something lol

LOL.... I thought I was the only one who did this. Yes, before I get into my car, and after I get out of my car, I do a walkaround ALL the time. I check for doo doo that could have happened during the drive or the time I have parked, and also for door dings that "may" have happened (I would probably go to jail if the car that dinged me was right next to me).

Oh also, after any drive, I whip out my QD and MF to remove bugs on the front bumper and mirrors. Bugs on windshield I wait till I get home. Bugs on bumper/paint are acidic and will eat away clear coat just as well as doo doo will.

no Z action for me, but i will be seeing her later tonight when i pull my G back in the garage after work.

btw, i always check for bird crappage before driving off if my car was parked outside. :)

Nismoracer 05-04-2011 06:25 PM

Washed it. Will take it out later tonight to play.

Good to know about the dead bugs. I think I'll start to check my front bumper often. Mostly for any debris (rocks) that hit it.

then rock the QD as mentioned earlier.

I don't have a flamethrower. LMAO! I don't want to burn the tree down since it's close to the house and that will certainly catch fire. :icon14:

in my G and Z i keep a BCE kit... (bird crap emergency) :D

1. disposable gloves (dont want to touch that salmonella)
2. paper towels.... just get the softest ones you can find.
3. polymer based QD* (carry a small spray bottle)
4. trash bag
5. clean plush MF towel.

*i carry Prima Slick, but you can get Meguair's NXT spray. it needs to be polymer as you might need to use it in the sun. natural wax based can boil up on the hot panel and stain your finish making more work...

how to:
1. put on your disposable gloves.
2. spray the crap with QD and let it moisten.
3. spray the paper towel to soften and minimize swirls on the paint.
4. apply wet towel onto the crap as if you are picking it up, do not rub the towel.
5. trash into trashbag.
6. QD some more onto the panel and wipe dry with your plush MF towel
7. disposable glove into trashbag.

done. :p

I might need a CBE kit myself. I'll have to look into it. Thanks for the info! ;)

although ive found the birds dont crap on my black z as much as they did on my old blue rsx. every morning there was crap on my rsx, not so much on the z. :) ive read that blue actually attracts bird crap like a bullseye (its like water?), but probably bs.

I swear, those damn birds dropped bombs on my Z. Huge massive splats. My Z was like a target.

Ha ha... Yeah, I usually don't want to get it out in the rain because then the paint gets all gross. But I'm still <1200 miles (break-in) so I'm driving mine every day, too. It was 41F and drizzle this morning, the tires felt a little greasy, but hey, I put a good 60 miles on her in 5th and 6th between 45 and 80 mph. :happydance:

Washed, gazed adoringly, washed some more, gazed adoringly, dried, gazed adoringly...you get the picture. ;)

JB-370z 05-04-2011 09:26 PM

I have not drove her in a while but I did pull a leaf out of the grill of the Amuse front end while looking for something in the garage lol. That was the highlight of the interaction with my car today!
