Drove it to Chester, VA for the monthly ZCAR meet.

WarmAndSCSI 08-18-2010 02:06 AM

Woohoo, dropped off the STB for some powder coating goodness. Wheels will be the same color this weekend, along with a few other choice engine bay pieces.

shoopajae10 08-19-2010 03:23 PM

have it checked by an insurance adjuster for an estimate. =(

kenchan 08-29-2010 12:22 PM

Motored my Z and did the first oil change. I think figuring out how to reset the damn reminder took me more time. :D owners manual sucks.

If anyone's in the same situation (middle aged and can't figure out technology) here it is:

Get into the Maintenance screen (need to do both oil and filter separately)

Keep pushing the buttons until you are able to highlight the current milage
Then just hit the top button and let go. No need to hold down buttons like on most other cars.

Should say 0/3000 when you get it right. You can also change the interval which is easy to do.

Used Mobil1 silver cap and nissan oem filter. :)

Maybe we can have a mini z-meet in about a year, I'm applying to UVA law in a week :driving:

Today: Did my first ever oil change, it was a success. BMW full synthetic 5w30 and a PureOne Filter

red6spd 08-29-2010 10:30 PM

Dreamed about what its gonna sound like with the FI exhaust once it comes. But other then that I have not seen her all day. She's sleeping in the garage.

kenchan 09-05-2010 10:52 AM

I motored my Z and came home with Z + cuticle scissors in my rear tire.

Not sure if repairable, at tire store now... Wish me luck. :D

wtf? lol

It'll be fine so long as the puncture(s) isn't(aren't) in the sidewall region.

It was close to the inner sidewall but they patched it.
Went to store with Z wheel and puncture, puncture fixed but now 5 small gauges on the spokes. (was expected though)

Juleous- Yah, it was nearby a strip mall. I've had so many punctures through my driving yrs I can tell just by the sound it makes. Lol

Atleast I can drive it tomorrow again. :p

After a good long Canyon Run Yesterday, she came back home with dead bugs and bug splatter all over the front end and windshield. I gave her a badly needed Wash and she's nice and clean now! :D

kenchan 09-08-2010 10:06 PM

so i fixed the worst gauge i had in the wheel spoke from the recent tire repair bozo fix... :eekdance: didn't take the before pict because my bb froze and was too pissed to wait for it to reload.

so i went head and filed down the raised portion of the damage from the tire mounter dork mishap (they have the right hunter tire mounter but the arse who did the repair was careless). then used 400grit sand paper, then 1500 grit sand paper, and tried 8 different kinds of metallic paints all with fail... :icon14:

so i pulled out my foil tape, mounted it onto the spoke, rubbed brake dust as compound onto the foil to lessen gloss and to slightly polish to get the dark deep color to match the wheel's hypersilver color. i think turned out pretty good. my wife could not tell where i did the repair even outside in the sun. :p

can you tell inside the red circle?

Haha, that's what I mean, the part you are pointing to is not damaged at all and just a reflection from the camera flash so you can't tell I fixed it either. :p

Well, I was going to wash my Z today, until I saw the pristine condition of Ken's wheels.

Now I feel depressed!

:rofl2: in my case it works against me because if the wheels were dirty you wont see any of the chips the tire mounter goof made... :icon14:

LunaZ 09-09-2010 07:33 PM

I turned off VDC and enjoyed the 60 degree temps this morning.

ZPirate 09-09-2010 08:39 PM
