i got hit-HELP!!
 

two weeks after getting the 40th anniversary, some old lady hit me in the parking lot. My car was parked, i was not in it, and she basically pulled in and scrapped/damaged the entire left side of the car!!!!!!!! My question is, do i have to take it back to Nissan and get it painted/fixed there (isnt it some custom paint that NIssan used???)))) Or do i take it to a local body dealer, obviously a guy i know???? PLEASE HELP, im so pissed right now!!!! who hits a parked car???????

The best body you can find that uses only genuine Nissan replacement parts.

that's why I park far far away. Sure it draws extra attention since you're the only car that far, but throw in a gps tracking device and you should be ok. Take it to Nissan, 40th's have a special color I doubt anyone will be able to properly color match...good luck.

Have the Dealers Body Shop fix it.

You don't need to take the car back to the dealer if you dont want to. Any trusted bodyshop can get the paint.

Did anything get damaged that is something you would want aftermarket?
A nice bumper or something?

Also make sure you claim money for loss in value, as you had a brand new car and it will now be a repaired car. Maybe put that towards some other fun goodies to make you feel better.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck but I know how you feel. I also park away from everyone but always come back to the car to find someone parked right next to it.

That happened to me last year at work. Chick hit my parked car,left the scene,no note,good samaritan saw her and told me license plate#.She claimed she did'nt realize she hit anything when cops went to her home.

People really don't know how to drive.

are you going thru your insurance company? If so they may recommend shops they deal with.

Check with your insurance company and check around. The dealer might have a crappy body shop.

That is why the car has a color code....

That is totally F'ed up man! Someone backed into my front bumper at a church parking lot and hightailed it out of there 28 days after I bought my car, but the damage isn't as bad as yours. Do you have some pics of what your left side looks like? At least you have pics and a license plate to prove it.

She was like Pakistani or something and she kept mumbling. As soon as i saw it i ran across the parking lot and witnessed her trying to get out--i.e-scraping my car and ruining the entire left side. I banged on her trunk and started swearing.....she got out and mumbled a bunch of stuff and then i had to walk away for a second as I kinda went into shock......afterwards I had to jump in my car and back it out, the noise was TERRIBLE!!!!! then i was inspecting the damage i noticed my mirror was scratched and she comes over and goes "i didnt hit that part"......i flipped you know what.......i then got all her insurance info and took off......its kinda ridiculous how stupid people are.........its like u hit a car, confess up to it, apologize, and then offer to pay.......i cant wait to see what happens tomorrow when i call my insurance.......im not paying one single cent for this.....they better pay teh deductible too

In Aus you wouldn't pay anything for this repair... not sure how your system works but...

To be honest i was in shock, i just couldnt believe someone could actually do this.....Her husband showed up and was like "we could settle this outside the insurance companies, and i was like dude they only made like 900 of these, its a 40th anniversary with special paint..it going to cost you a lot of money" he then was like well it doesnt look that bad.......thats when i grabbed his registration papers and had to walk away.......friggin stupid people

That is just crazy. I don't know how that lady got a license but it needs to be revoked! How do you run up the whole length of the car like that and not notice?

Anyway, here in Massachusetts you don't have to pay any deductible if it is proven that the other driver is at fault. Furthermore if you are parked (even illegally) and your vehicle is hit then the other driver is automatically at fault. The photographic evidence helps confirm everything, so good move on that.

Can we see a picture(s) of the actual damage after the Honda was pulled away? Thanks.
