if your were going to go to all that trouble then just put in a 454.. see how can can keep going. why i said my ls1 because i actually owned it. trying to keep things realistic. and the ls1 is actually a popular engine to be swapped into imports IE the rx7's

Its popular because its cheap, and there are kits to do it. But, the same kits will work for ANY of the LSX motors really...so if you had no motor and you wanted to do the swap...MINIMUM I would put in is an LS2. If I had more monies and could find one? LS3.

I hope Nissan comes out with another straight six - an improved version of the RB26. Maybe something like the RB30 block from Australia with the RB26 heads for an amazing 3.0l turbo charged motor.
V8s are dying. Emissions will kill them and turbo chargers will be the last hold out for huge power as emisson restrictions continue. Then electric cars will take over once a suitable cost effective power storage solution is found. Electric cars will blow the doors off the combustion engines and take traction control to an all new level with powered AWD. No need for a differential. Its going to be the next level of automotive technology. Tuning your car will come down to software and how much current you want to draw from your power source and the capability of your ESC (electronic speed controller). Many will fear the change but its going to be crazy....

Coming off an LS1 that is what held me off the Z so far...thinking I just won't be as pleased with it at 332hp (which is 30 HP higher than my LS1) but I don't read about the power as much as I do about LS engines. Maybe a test drive is in order.

You will be dying for more torque. The Z has no bottom end at all, which is a HUGE shock if you are used to a V8.
