the 370z would be a samurai sword, the Mustang would be a very large cleaver. Sure it's fast in a straight line, but unless you're looking to dominate the expressway I don't think it's really great for real world driving experiences. I love the torque of Mustangs, but it's a 1 dimensional car, lots of power and torque, inferior handling, and compared to the Z inferior exterior and interior build quality. I wouldn't give my Z up for a Mustang and I'm someone whose first 2 cars were both Stangs.

some eye opening numbers
The 2010 Mustang pulled .93 G's and slalomed at 69.3 MPH for Road and Track. I assume the 2011 will at least match these numbers. Not quite Z numbers but damn close far far better than other US manufactures. If you think you are gonna run away from a mustang in the corners, you're gonna be surpised. If you thing the 'stang can't handle, you're judging from the past, not what's selling now. Mustangs have quitely become much better overall sportscars whilst the Camaro and Challenger was getting all the "gee golly" press.

![]() I'll agree our Z fits like a glove when taking tight turns while these muscle cars feels a bit forced. There is going to definetly be that difference in feeling. In the end though numbers aren't going to change. Guarantee you later this year I'll have my hands full at auto-x with these 2011 stangs. Last edited by 280z/300zx; 03-30-2010 at 12:03 PM. |

Rednek, I must have misread Matt's post. I didn't see similarities between the current S197's interior and that of the old Fox's, which is what I thought he was referring to. The similarities between the current S197 and the 60's era are obvious. I had an '06 GT.

Oh ok gotcha! haha I was like you gotta either not know your cars or be blind to not see the resemblance! The fox body era or 79-93 mustangs have very very minor cues to the mustang look I have to admit I owned one and loved it and was stupid to sell it, but its an ugly car if you aren't a mustang lover.

Its still a butt ugly interior and IMO exterior not matter if they are trying to go retro or what. If you want unique or semi unique then the GT isnt it.

The last one could. The track pack equipped cars (read: sport package) are very formidable around a road track.

How many of us use our cars to the full potential?
How often are you going to be racing a 2011 Mustang? Is this about bragging rights "my car is faster then your car"is kinda like "my dad can beat up your dad". Suggesting a Mustang is better then a Z in a Z forum is going to get flamed. It comes down to what you like,if you want a car that everyone else has buy a Mustang, you want something a little more rare buy a Z ,its all personal taste,if your in a Z forum and not a Mustang forum you must have a reason. |
