Default Sharing a bad experience with my 370Z

A little background down.

My car:
2009 370Z
6 Speed Manual
Sports Package

Two weeks ago, my 370 was in the shop for electrical issues. In between shifts it would throttle. Very hard. 7k RPM throttle for about 20 seconds. If I engaged the gear, it would stop and let me take over. Mind you I burnt my clutch to hell, but that's the least of my concerns. Every time I took it out of gear, it would pick a new RPM to sit at until I engaged my gear again. I at first thought it was the rev matching mode, which I never drive with on, but maybe it got confused. So I flipped it on and off a few times. It didn't do anything. I took it to the shop. After a few days of them inspecting, they said they cleared reflashed my ECU and it was fixed.

Today, I'm driving about 15mph around a right hand turn. I cut the turn a tad short and my rear tire nipped the curb. My traction control engaged as it should. When the traction control engaged, rather than cutting throttle it went full throttle. I counter steered away from the curb that I was now wrecklessly heading towards and slammed on the brakes. It powered right through my brakes and endlessly spun my rear tires. I did 4 full rotations and bounced off of both sides of the road before my car finally stalled from me standing on the breaks with the gear engaged.

Admittedly, I could have pulled it out of gear. But between the countersteering and braking, it just wasn't my first thought. Sometimes the easiest solution isn't so easy when you're trying to navigate through oncoming traffic while spinning

Anyway, it's back in the shop now with a Nissan USA rep on the way to evaluate. They said it's the first report of the Nissan Drive-By-Wire failing or conflicting with traction control.

I'll let you guys know what comes of it.

I'd like to hear more about this. Never heard of anything like this happening before with Nissan. Toyota Pt 2?

Do you have any pictures for proof?

Sounds like a Toyota. All kidding aside, glad to hear you're not hurt. Bad luck.

What kind of pictures? I can get some before anything is done.

As soon as I get the report from Nissan USA I will definitely post it.

Well, I mean..Is there damage done to the car? Any paperwork from the dealership showing this problem prior to the accident that you could upload?

It's just hard to believe some people who come on a forum with this being their first post. I don't mean to offend you, just want to know this is legit.

I'll get you guys some. This is my first post because I wanted to share it with other Z owners.

I know it's very suspicious. So I'll do my best to prove it for you. I promise, I'm not just trashing Nissan. I loved my 370Z and my 350Z prior.

I had a 2005 350Z before my 370Z. I'm a huge Z enthusiast, just not a member of these forums.

edit: I'll go back to the dealer today with my camera.

double edit: Passenger side top and seat airbags deployed from hitting the curb. The main front airbag did not. Front passenger side damage to the bumper and both passenger side rims are managled from bouncing off the curb.

But, I will get you guys some pictures for sure. This is no made up story and I can easily understand how you think it is. I'm a member of a few forums so I know how the trolling can be. Just give me a few days to get back on here with some pictures.

Kind of surprising you didn't push the clutch in when it started going crazy. Usually my first instinct when slamming the brakes is to put the clutch in at the same time. Hmm...

I agree, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

I was just taking a casual turn. It was bad reactions from me, I totally agree. I won't deny the driver error there. It happened so fast I just wasn't prepared for it. As I said, I was going around 15-20 MPH. When I'm driving aggressive I'm prepared for stuff like that to happen. Not when I'm cruising home on my lunch break.

But like I said, I'm not trying to troll the forums or make excuses. Just sharing an experience.

Once I get pictures and the report from Nissan USA, I'll post and upload everything here.
