I think all the car got away with the ashtrays. My old lady 07 RAV4 doesn't have one. The 350Z didn't have one either that I recall

I smoke, but not in my car. Never the less it upsets me when a car doesn't have an ash tray or lighter. Even though I don't use the car lighters. I just like there being one. Old fashioned I guess.

Same here. Stopped smoking in my cars with the last new car I bought --07 Mazda 3 ... it did have an ashtray though. Now I am 10 minutes later to everywhere I go -- 5 minutes for a smoke before I leave -- 5 minutes for a smoke after I get there....

Same here, except I just plan for that extra 10 minutes ahead of time. If that smoke is going to make me late, I drive the beater instead, because I still smoke in that.

I put a foam can coozy(?) in my driver door cupholder. Holds plenty of change without scratching the panel.

Does anybody know why they didnt come equiped with one?......just curious
For my change, I use a small zippered coin purse a local merchant gave out to circulate his name and phone number that are printed on the side Helps that he's also a client of mine). In any event, I keep it in the empty Nav compartment of my Nav-less Z, along with my cell phone, tic-tacs, etc. It works fine and keeps the change from jangling and rattling around during driving. I'm sure you can buy one in whatever passes as today's 5 and 10 cent store!

I have never understood why people think it's ok to throw flaming trash out of their cars.

Pisses me off, too.

Almost every new car has no built-in ashtray anymore - you pay (slightly) extra for it.

Which is awesome because:
1) Smoking is disgusting
2) Its a waste of space when you could have a cupholder or...something
3) Smoking is disgusting

yeah your probably right, but I am trying to make the smokers feel a little better.

in the year 2000..

438k died from smoking ( a little exaggerated if you ask me)
76k from alcohol
