Well, I stay with him for the for the most part until we hit thick traffic...then I backed off a bit. He jumps off the exit ramp and as I go by I see him pounding the steering wheel. Guessed I pissed him off keeping up with him. It was fun.....

I love my Z......
Haha -- most of the 05-10 Mustang guys are very surprised that we are actually a little bit quicker than them.

The 2011s will rape us, though.

Not 100% true. Ok before i say my statement, i think roll racing is gay for 2 reasons..doesnt prove anything and its always street racing which is also gay. Racing at the track is where its at. That being said, Unless the race is 100% perfect condition, ie.. track prep, condition of the cars and no mistakes made by the drivers, then yea...the mustang might rape us. That also being said...if one of those examples gets messed up, that doesnt mean the race doesnt count.

What im getting at is before i bought my 370z, I owned a Cobalt SS Supercharged with a Harrop TVS Supercharger Swap, 60lb injectors, CAI and a few traction mods. That was sitting at around 260-270fwhp. Got to the track, lined up...they paired me up with a 89 Mustang with exhaust, intake, drag radials and a 75 shot of nitrous. I beat him, came around, lined up with a stock Mustang GT (08 i think), beat him. Let my car cool down for abit then i jumped in line again. Got paired up with a Mustang Saleen with 480whp. He missed 2nd gear and i beat him.

So when people say "oh car A will rape car B" not always true, just cuz hp is different doesnt always mean a win. The power in the car isnt the only factor in a race. Sorry for long post but thats kinda pet pieve of mine..lol

Well it's obvious that the many real world variables could change things, but don't fool yourself... In equal conditions we don't stand a chance against a 2011 GT... it's pretty simple.

every car is different, thats what i dont understand about people. They either say we will get raped by a car or someone is bragging about their car is faster then another. Big deal, it has more power...just like my 370z has more power then my old cobalt. If i wanted a faster car i would have gotten one or ill just stick to my ZX6R. But thats just my opinion..lol.

Well until we get one on a dyno and see how much drivetrain loss they suffer from and what the curb weight is going to be, its all still subjective. However, with my mods and my tune, i'll try to get one at the strip ASAP, going out on a limb here, but I think i'll win, mostly because my bhp will be about the same and i'll be 300+ lbs lighter.

That's not really saying much, because you are comparing a stock 2011 to your modded Z.

FWIW, the 4.6Ls rated at 315 hp dyno between 270-280 whp (dynojet) and put down around 330 whp with intake, exhaust (CBE and HFCs) and a tune. Drivetrain loss should be similar, so expect around 355 whp stock out of a 2011.

But yeah, I don't know why anyone would buy a 2010 knowing that the 2011 was getting that much of a power increase.

I think since the stang has an extra 2 cyls on us we can include our mods and still have it a fair comparison. IMNO we either compare according to cyl or HP. Either way I know stang owners hate getting beat by 6 cyls, Ive had a few get that pissy look afterwards.

At least with the Z, they are getting beat by a sports car. You should look up the reactions of 'Stang owners on their forums when people bring up the SRT-4. They really hate it that a four cylinder Neon can whoop up on them.

Here we go again, you are basing this comment on what, horsepower figures? Last I checked curb weight hadn't been released nor had any figures. I love Mustang just like you bro, but they aren't going to run a magazine time lower than a 13.2 and by the time these things are on the streets many Z's will be faster. Figure most people on this forum have CBE's HFC's intakes and maybe even a tune. Mustang guys will rush straight for CBE's and I don't see that helping them much. The new Mustang will be slower than the new Camaro, it always is, it'll overall be a better car, but I firmly believe that 99.9% of them I'll ever see I would be able to take.

It's been printed a few times that the all aluminum 5L will not add to the weight of the car, so expect the same roughly 3,550 lbs as the 2010 car.

It's pretty much going to be a Camaro SS less a couple hundred pounds, which, in identical conditions will beat a Camaro SS and 370Z stock for stock. That's all I'm saying, man.

Oh, and don't forget the FRPP supercharger option, installed at the dealership, before you take delivery. Nom nom nom.

Actually, doesn't the new engine weigh less?

I could be wrong, but I remember seeing that somewhere.

Also yeah, a Camaro is faster in a straight line and the new Mustang will almost def. be faster than a Camaro. You've got it in the turns, but else? idk.

I've never been a mustang guy but they certainly have a reason to be happy.

edit: I've also always thought that dealer-supported "aftermarket" was one thing the American car companies have always done so much better. It's sick that you can walk out the door with a supercharger.

I think you're right, it's a few pounds lighter than the 4.6L.

Would have been a great option for the 370Z!
