It wraps around the outside of the oil filter.

No, you stick it on your oil filter and it helps the really small particles that *might* normally pass through the filter stay inside.

Do this really works? I was thinking about getting the FilterMAG RA250. Will that fit?

I have been using one for three years now .. I cut open one of my used filters with the magnet still on it and the inside looked just like the advertised pic . Pretty cool ..

I have one and my engine still running. I also have a magic rock that keeps tigers away. Both are working equally well for me.

Its funny how this topic got somewhat 'heated'. No offense to neither side but we are talking about something that is $30 or cheaper if you just stick magnets on your oil filter.

Its a cheap mod, so why not?

I've been using one for a long time. Personally, I think it's not all that likely that it does a lot of good, but again for $30 for a lifetime part why not at least try. It's certainly not going to hurt anything. It definitely catches some fine metal (as shown in the pics), but that doesn't necessarily mean it reduces engine wear. It could be that those particles always stick in the filter anyways, could be that anything small enough to get through the filter can't really hurt your bearings anyways, etc. It's not a bad insurance policy though.
