Good point. With our recent economic devastation and Nissan negative Nissan North America Announces October Sales 11.03.08 sales, Nissan will do anything to sell this car. They ARE aware of other car prices (i.e. V6 Camaro starting at 23,xxx with 300 HP). I think the new Z SHOULD start at 31500. It's exactly 2000 more than the current model. With all the new changes, I think that's expected.

I ALWAYS like my sports car - the lightest model available. As for 350Z, the base is the lightest model (NOT Nismo). I think Enthusiast gives you the best bang for your buck.

On our new 370Z, I think the base Z + Sports Package = Best deal

I just built what would at the present be my ideal Z: Enthusiast w/ 5 spd auto and side curtain airbags, all for $32,525. That's a decent price and probably a "G" away from what my price ceiling would be.

I think for the new Z, you gotta add at least 2 - 2.5 Gs for the same options. You gotta understand though, it's a brand new model Z. Does this steer you away a little?

You know what's funny? I find myself looking at the E92 335i, a car I had hard time liking because of the somewhat subdued nature in its responses, but looking at all the flashy rides on E90Post makes me want one again... and that car costs substantially more than the Z. I told myself no car is worth spending as much as the Germans command, but you are still getting a lot of car for your money. That is despite the fact if you keep the car past warranty and crap may start to fail, despite the fact they're generally pretty pretentious automobiles that are more likely to get keyed than any other car you can buy. Well I def see the 370Z equipped with side impact airbags standard so the only option you have to add is the automatic. I don't see why you can't get it for $33K before T & L. It also helps if you wanna drive a little (to different states/city) to get your new car. I have seen huge variations in prices from one state (city) to another.

$29,993 will get you stripped base model. For many that's the perfect base to mod the car. But somef like their cars fully loaded. It all depends on what's your plan for the car.

If any dealer still think that can do markups in this economy, they are completely out of their mind. Most car dealer are trying to keep open let alone sell cars. The crap that Chevy dealers pulled with the ZR1 with 70k markup, is some of the small reason that lead to them bagging for the bailout.

That's a good point. Many people get the stock nav (even though they aren't that great) just because it make the interior looks nicer.

Isn't sports package automatically gives you S package meaning if it's auto you get 7SAT paddles and if it's manual you get S6SPD (rev match)? That's what I thought. Nissan is going to sell Sports package on 90% of their Z IMO. It's just too good to pass up. It's a perfect package for any Z enthusiast. Kinda like Z51 package on corvette.
