Default Z1 or mishimoto or AAM R-line cooling system?

going to track the car. my oil temp will be around 230 240 250 during a 8 min montain curing . And I have to stop and cool it. The AAM is the special one they just add a cabe between oil and water and cool them together. whitch one is better and more stable? do you need to remove oem cooler after you got Z1 or mishimoto?

Z1 is the preferred choice. Generally better customer service and parts quality all around. Also nothing needs removal.

Only 2 real choices for oil coolers. FI or Z1. Get a 34 row cooler. Forget about a 25 row if you track. The FI kit for the newer Z's has the block off for the factory cooler. Get the thermostatic plate too. The plate stays 90% closed until the oil reaches a predetermined temp then opens up to 100%. The reason the plate stays 10 % open when cold is so that you always have some oil flowing through it. It preheats the oil in the cooler so that cold oil coming into the engine when the plate fully opens does not cold shock engine parts.

Stay away from the Mishashitymoto cooler. It has been known the fail.

It's funny you all are talking about the FI kit today. I just ordered one this morning.

I was also going to go with the FI. Mostly because of the crimped connections.

Depends purchase the oil cooler for your Z that you think will meet the demand of what you are using your Z for? Don’t be afraid to go with a bigger oil cooler a specially if you have track duty planned. The Z1 and FI oil cooler seems to be quite popular among Z enthusiasts and they do there job of lowering oil temperature. The AAM Competition R-Line oil cooler uses the oil to water style cooler core which I’m not a fan of and this oil cooler was engineered more towards forced induction Z’s. AAM still uses the Mishimoto thermostat with the R-Line oil cooler kit which I would swap out for a different thermostat as the Mishimoto oil coolers are made in China and I would recommend to refrain from installing any Mishimoto parts on your Z! I have been using the AAM Competition S-Line oil cooler for four years now and it has kept my oil temperature in check so far and has not leaked. AAM oil lines are pressure tested and their oil cooler kits are inspected. I have been using two cores street/track. Do your homework before choosing a oil cooler kit for your Z. Best advice do your oil change on time and inspect for any possible leaks. Install the protective oil line wrapping if the oil cooler kit you decide to purchase does not come with it already installed on the lines.

I use a 40 row i put together from summit racing 10an lines and a thermostatic sandwich adapter(i drive in NYC it gets cold here). Has been working wonders for 7 years now.

PS the only thing is that you need to fabricate a mount, what i did is just used 2 aluminum "L"s boit em to the cooler and mount it to the plastic frame openings where the nissan clip and bolt can go, on the top of the cooler i bolted a straight rod to the metal frame thats in the middle to keep it from swinging back n forth.
