This actually reminds me of a good story.
The leader of the Sikh empire, Ranjit Singh, was a very powerful man, who was extremely wealthy had and a great amount of knowledge and wisdom. Though he had all of this he wasn't easy on the eyes, he had a visible lazy eye. One day someone went to him to take a under the rug type of jab, the man jokingly said "Hey, Ranjit, where were you when God was giving out good looks?". People laughed. Ranjit replied "While you were in line for good looks, I was busy building the skills required to build an empire". As it's been stated before, power > looks. When you have power people look at what and who you are. When you have looks people will also look at ya, but looks aren't enough skills to pay the bills.
