As I mentioned, it doesn't bother me but it bothers my wife. It's not the volume because it's really not very loud. It gets drowned out by the radio, tire noise, or wind noise if the window are down. It's also not super-high pitched. It's about the same frequency as the emergency broadcast signal tone, if you know what that sounds like. It's not like a dog whistle or something only teens can hear. I think it's just the constant tone that bugs my wife. I didn't even notice it until she pointed it out. Of course now I can't 'Un-hear' it. For comparison, If my miata made this noise, it would be impossible to hear at all. The general cabin noise level is probably 2x that of the Z. |

Ok... here is update for my highpitch noise.
My dealer just change ECU which is ending with A.. That noise has been reduced a little bit but still can hear. General service maneger was not there when I picked up my car. I think he might say try another ECU. Anyways... we gonna talk about this on monday. I will ask them to change to another Z. If they say NO?? I will hire an attorney. ![]() |

fullmonty, i have that too (i have the high pitched noise AS WELL AS this other buzz like two live wires are touching each other regularly emitting a spark - i couldn't find a thread on the forum that described this other one). Have had both issues since bought the car at 7 miles.

it's like the sound you get stuck in ur ear after a night out at a club with too loud music or sometimes when you're in an extremely quiet room.. except in both instances it goes away and in the Z it doesnt as long as you're driving. how would an ECU emit such a sound? i get the funny impression that something is vibrating at its harmonic resonance...
