Just bought 2013 370z

Realistically:

All fluids
Tires
Brake Pads
Battery
Have a specialty shop (if available) instead of a dealer take a good look.
CSC HD or CMAK swap asap (which does mean you're replacing the CMC as well, at least)
Oil Cooler asap

Reality is, yes, that's expensive as hell to do in one shot. I'm just speaking in terms of the most robust way about it — like, how to generally take care of a used car you just acquired and don't truly know the history off firsthand, as well as addressing some two of the biggest issues with the car. It is possible that the tires/pads/battery/even fluids are ok if you have sort of documentation those got replaced recently. Oil cooler can wait a bit by just driving easy.

IMO the CSC can't wait. You don't want to deal with the hassle of the unexpected downtime, towing and associated possible mishandling in the process.

I sold my '09 a few years ago and was always worried about CSC but fortunately I didn't experience it in my 3 years of ownership but the guy I sold it to had it fail within the year.

I recently picked up a '14 and am now paranoid about it so will look into getting it replaced.

I can't seem to find the petition for a recall or lawsuit that this site had, did anything come of that or did it get dismissed?

It used to be a sticky on the front page and had several hundred petitions.

Thanks all for the great info. It def. helps. I did my first thing tonight which was to change the oil lol. Thanks for the heads up on the crush washer!

Also, I'll have to do the other fluids soon. I'm sure I can get that done pretty easily myself.

I did check the tires they seem to be fine to me. The guy I bought it from was older and had it garaged so everything seems to be pretty much perfect so far.

I also have a 7AT not a manual. I'm not very car savy to know what a CSC is but I'm assuming it's only for a manual transmission or do I need to worry about something with the automatic as well?

The Genuine Nissan CSC is only for the 6MT transmission. As far as your 7AT transmission go’s as long as you change your automatic transmission fluid on time you should not have any problems. Unless you are putting down some really big whp/wtq the 7AT transmission is a very reliable and dependable transmission even for street duty or track duty and is quite efficient in terms of shifting through the gears. I have seen the 7AT transmissions last 250K-300K miles it really depends on what you use your Z for.

OP, I'm not sure if you are going to DD your car or not, but a random thought. Annual service of the AT (not to exceed 15000 miles) is a great idea. Heat is the biggest killer of ALL ATs, not just ours. Considering cost to R&I a 370Z 7AT is over $3500, a couple of hundred $$ on an annual basis is pretty cheap. Enjoy the car and happy modding...
