It's one thing to give your $29,900 sports car shytjob of badges n stripes n call it an anniversary car.

It's another to take your $114,000 sports car and give it a **** job of badges n stripes n call it an anniversary edition. Nissan has officially gone FULL RETARD

That GT-R should be called the "Simple Jack edition"

Lets consider you could purchase a car that is still being sold 10 years later with only a few modification, ie, change in front bumper 12’ to 13’, added DRL’s, some extra HP with the Nismo, along with suspension and body design, again Nismo. It also offers rev-matching. Now your car is never outdated relative to itself, so a 2009 looks just a good as a 2019. This car also offers a true drivers experience, no artificial driver assist stuff going on, just you and the car.

Some might call this car a bit of a retro-mod, old school driving experience, newer and more reliable drive train, great handling, and a solid amount of power, which you can bump up if you are so inclined. Some may say that it lacks a new and improved power train that would give it that extra go. However, with the new engine also come twin turbos if we are looking a what Infiniti is currently using. Is that better? I ask because NA engines, at least the V6 variety are getting a bit rare, and being a bit old school, I prefer an NA engine.

At times I think maybe the Z is past it time and should be discontinued, however, I just can’t sell my self on that. It still offers so much if you are looking for a dependable, drive-able and yes good looking car that you don’t see on every street corner. So do we want to keep the Z if it means we kind of feel like the forgotten stepchild, or hang in there with one of the sweetest cars made today I know, 10 years ago.

Just my thoughts...

I gotta agree with you there. I find comfort knowing my N/A motor doesn't have an OEM turbo that will self-destruct 5 days or 40 miles after the warranty expires.

10 years old or not, the Z still looks better than the other 99%. I'm cool with my old Z and would be a repeat offender.

I have been around Z's all my life. To be honest. All of the anniversary editions have been appearance packages only. This is nothing new.

I'd say most are just disappointed that the platform itself has not changed in 10 years(since the last Anniversary edition, which I think looked much nicer/more subtle). I was really hoping that by the time the 50th Anniv came out, the successor to the 370 would have been here. I gave up on that notion a year or two ago.

Also worth remembering, the concept behind the Z is an "affordable" sports car, hence no oil cooler. People who want GT-R performance at a 370Z price are bound for disappointment.

I do hate on the fact they didn't really do any updates but I also like that my car is the same exact car as a brand new one so I know I'm not missing anything. No grubby car companies purposely under engineering them to do a design refresh every other year to keep making extra bucks off people (Ford Mustang, Camaro, Challenger, Almost every BMW).

I like the fact that it's a raw car and that you rarely see other people with them unlike like the above cars I just mentioned. After all, it's currently still the only car you can buy that is over 330 horsepower and has the best handling compared to cars that try to come close to that power at that price point. I think they should keep it NA, even near the same power but try to shave weight from some areas but still manage to keep the price point the same. We all know the Z33 and Z34 make a lot of tranny noise, they might as well throw in a lightweight flywheel from the factory to shave weight to get it going a little quicker and use the older 2009-2012 tires instead of the newer ones and make some of the interior bits thinner (or remove them altogether) and have the same front bumper but cut a wider mouth or slits on the sides leading to the brakes and better cooling for the engine. That alone I think would keep the price the same yet give it a little bump in performance. I would keep the same J-Lo shape and update those boomerang headlights and taillights.

I agree to a point. 60 lbs reduction on 3900 isn't much though. They still could have lightened the car in the interior...
But I say... Get a GTR while it's worth having. Cuz the next gen will be an E-car. Your stereo will make the turbo swoosh sounds.

On the side of the Z... The least they could do is upgrade the gauges n tranny stalks. Geez.
