These isn't some low-end Kia or Hyundai. I paid for one of the most expensive vehicles on most Nissan lots. Why in the hell am I paying for map updates? 1. I got them for free from Ford when I had my F150, and MSRP for it was about the same as for my Nismo. 2. I have 2 programs on my phone that already have updated maps on them, and they are free. 3. The only driving I do in my Z is back and forth to work. Trips are made in the much roomier 2500HD Chevy pickup we use to haul our travel trailer. Bottom line? I see no reason to buy the updated nav maps from Nissan. It's ********. But that's just my opinion, and I could be wrong. Kirk B. |

And btw, the Z is not one of the most expensive vehicles of Nissan, nismo or not. I would say it’s the median. |

I will however address the latter part. I would think that around about $25k would be median price for cars, across the board, not just Nissan. I will admit to having done no research to back this number up, and will accept that I could be off by a couple of grand either way. The Nismo Tech Z MSRP's for $45,000, and sells in the Mid to Upper 30's. It's not in Corvette range, but it isn't an Altima, either. Kirk B. |

As you have stated, the MSRP of a nismo tech Z is $45k. So then you can spend $45k on a car but gripe about spending $130 for a software update? Once again, what are you to do when it comes time to replace the tires or other mainentance that may cost more than $130? Will you be emailing Nissan “WHY????”? And you would be surprised as to how high Altima’s get in price, esp. when adding different options. Heck, a civic (albeit a type r) could be in the nismo tech Z range, if not more. |
