Many of the interior features could be improved, but would drive up cost. I think Nissan was locked in on <$30K base price for marketing purposes.
I would like more customization of gauge usage and location, but at the end of the day I think they did a great job. All the money went into performance oriented hardware, and bang for the buck can't be denied. Keep in mind VDC is now standard, the seats are improved, improved interior material, etc. while they cut cost on windshield wipers, etc.
