Constant speed, flat highway, yep cruise control, cool temps, light traffic, pretty much all fell into place on that fateful day. When I drove to Ohio from Texas a few months back, my average for the entire trip was 22mpg, to include city driving, I dont drive like a grandma either, but I try to stay in a high gear when possible.

This engine warms up pretty fast. Aluminum is a wonderful thing. I'd say it only takes a mile or two to be burning fuel efficiently, unless it's colder than a rat's a$$ outside. Easy for me to say though, I have a garage.

I drove from St. Louis Illinois to Elizabethtown Kentucy using only a half tank of gas. I am not sure how I managed that but it shocked the **** out of me.
