I bought a new 2016 370Z Nismo Automatic Coupe. I have had it for about 14 months and have a total of 2900 (yes 2900) miles because it is not fun to drive. I also have a 2017 Camry and a 2012 F150 plus another old sports car. As I mentioned the car is not fun to drive as it does not want to hold a straight line and you constantly have to fight to hold it straight. It was checked by the dealer and it was said to be within specs….does a regular Z have the same suspension specs as a Nismo? Help appreciated.

Something doesn't sound right. Does your car pull to one side when you let go of the wheel? If so take it to another dealer or better yet take it to an alignment shop.

Sounds like you might be referring to tramlining. This is a normal thing when you have wide front tires.

If you don't have the spring shipping spacers still installed take it to a trusted alignment shop. You will want it set to dead
middle of the spec for toe front and rear.

While tramlining may be the problem, unless OP is driving on a lot of poor roads, it shouldn't be a "not fun to drive" problem. But maybe OP is just real sensitive to such things. I'd check out the suspension first.

As per Spooler, check for shipping spacers (if the spacers are there, fire your dealer and find a new one) and then have a competent alignment shop (there's a good chance your dealership doesn't fit that description) check the whole suspension. Competent shops are becoming rarer as time goes on so get some recommendations before choosing one.

Definitely have your suspension checked. Also search for a reputable shop to get an alignment at.

Here’s a quick reference chart I pulled off internet.
Chance are your toe is off; have them adjust toe closer to maximum specs....a tad more toe will hold it straight/ especially on higher speed acceleration & deceleration.
Especially on the rear.
Notice the rear calls for twice as much toe as front.
Another term I’ve heard the pro’s use is “Nervous”. Your Z will feel more nervous with less toe.

Edit: This is from another recent thread...make sure your tire pressures are correct also.
