Tpms question

I picked up a full set of wheels and tires with tpms, can I just bolt up the wheels and go or will the tpms need to be reset on the new wheels?

How is it a waste of time? If you put them on and they work- great. If they do not, then you go to a dealership and have them reset. Wheels need to go on either way.

Strange...this just reminded me that I’m not running any tpms with my new wheels and have yet to see any lights come on for a few hundred miles now. Old ones are still attached to my oem wheels

thoughts?

Since TPMS is on the valve stems now, it was probably part of the installation charges and you didn't notice it. It was $5 a wheel with my new tires.

OK so I have new to me tpms sensors, do they have to take the tires off to mate them to the car? Or can I mount them to the car and drive it to a tire center?

The tires have to be on the car. The process takes about 5 minutes.
You may get a TPMS error on the dash or a low tire warning until.its reset. As long as you know there is not a tire problem, i.e. a low tire, you cannot hurt anything.

These tpms sensors are new to my car, so mount the new wheels to the car, drive to tire center and they mate the new sensors to the car, reset and done? No big deal at the tire center then, that would make my day easier

Correct. The worst part will be the gouge from the tire center, lol.

I just went by Discount Tire and they sync'd my new TPMS sensors for free.

Took them 5 min. Gave them a $20 tip.
