Default TPMS Question

Hey guys, If I get another set of wheels that have tpms already in them, how can I tell the sensors are good and in working order? I want to make sure before I sell my old ones.

Is there a way to eye it? Or do I just go to the dealer and have them coded to my car?

If I get the new ones coded to my car, does that mean the old set will stop working? Or can I have 2 sets coded to my car?

Thanks in advance!

You can't have two sets coded in our car so the only way you will know if they are good is to get them coded to your car by going to the dealer.

I have two sets of rims for my Z (Dedicated winter rims/tires and summer rims/tires) and I have to reset the TPMS two times per year.

i believe you have to re sync the sensors each time. What kind of car did the new wheels come from. The sensors have to be specific to the car. If you took wheels that were on an 08 350z or a g37 or something they might not work on your 370z.

First time (different dealer) charged me $53. This is a normal 1/2 hour rate at most dealer. If they want to charge you 1 hour, DO NOT settle for it. It takes literally 10 minutes all together to do this. Resetting the TPMS takes only 20 seconds each rim!

My last reset was FREE because dealer (another dealer) felt awkward taking money from me for a job that took literally 3 minutes!

I hope that kinda gave you an idea how easy this job is for the dealer. Ask them if they can do it for you FREE as a courtesy and go from there . Good luck.

there's no way to tell if the sensors are there or good without going to a dealer as well, huh?
