Mine are painted MB, they look like this. 100% worth having them color matched. I had my buddy paint mine so i got a bit of a deal but shouldn't run more than $250-300 at most shops.

Hour and a halfish south of Chicago, between Kankakee and Champaign. I can set you up with my guy, he did a really nice job. Been on the car for a year and a half and almost flawless other than one small chip behind the handle. I'll give him a call and get a price, He was down to do more of them after doing mine.

Thank you kindly sir! I'm in the NW suburbs myself.

Other than her puckering up at almost every curve, it was a fun day :driving: :happydance:

Wifey and me took the Z out for a nice mountain ride today too. We just got back. Went up to the Yough Dam, then into Ohio Pyle State Park. They repaved RT 381 coming out of the state park to RT 40. :yum:  :driving: I'm going to have to hit that during the week. :driving: :driving: :driving:

Seen 6 GT-R's at Ohio Pyle. Wonder if FPenis was one of them.

On the way home. We stopped at the Stone Inn. Had some great BBQ for dinner.:yum:

The 'Like' was for the stealth crotch shot porn photo, not the handles. That took imagination. LoL!

Oh, btw, nice handles.

She is a bit dusty. I've sealed the concrete, have an air filter running 24-7, and put sheet plastic over all the insulation batts behind the pegboard, and still all this dust. :shakes head: Suggestions on helping keep dust down would be greatly appreciated.

As far as the car goes, why not get a light car cover for it?

You will have some dust no matter what. The only way to really cut it down. Is to do like paint shops do. Filtered air, double set of doors.

Paint the Z white. lol I had a black prelude and that thing was a dust magnet. Even the current Platinum Gray will have alot of dust a day after washing.
I guess the best thing to keep the dust off is driving it :driving::tup:

Exhaust is off. Going to need to get the polisher out before it goes back on. The Y pipe is going back to my welder to have the slip joint welded and shave the counter weight brackets so it's easier to wrap. TP and Y are both getting wrapped and HT coated.

http://www.the370z.com/members/-zs-c...tillen-cbe.jpg

Heat shield and body braces are off too. My twice smashed W brace needs a little TLC and a coat of paint or undercoating.

http://www.the370z.com/members/-zs-c...ody-braces.jpg

Fluids are out of it too. Taking a break while the clutch line drips dry. Drive shaft is next then the shifter. Might get to the pedal and cmc later today too depending on how much my honey do list grows. Planning to drop the trans next weekend as long as the trans jack adapter gets delivered. Aiming to have it back on the ground by the end of June.

Ordered up some Motylgear 75w85 I've been running oem and it's been ok but looses the new fluid feel pretty quick so I'm trying something different.

I used Rustoleum High Heat black paint to touch up the rusted parts of my W brace, seems to be holding up.

madwi 05-27-2019 09:33 AM

I really should find a new W brace. Mine got bashed to chit by concrete chunk on the way down to zdayz last year.

I have a heavier car cover but I can't help but feel that it mars the paint ever so slightly when it's on. Maybe if they made one purely out of South Korean microfiber and unicorn hair... I'm considering using sheet plastic and making sort of a open-sided tent over the Z.

Hmm.. I could go the full satellite assembly room positive airflow route... but if I wore a Tyvek suit then Bunk would be disappointed when he does his usual 300% zoom on my crotch reflection...

Don't you have a "spare" W brace parked under your lift? :rofl2:

I munched mine the first time on the way to the dragon. Stopped for the night in KY, caught an underground tank cap at a gas station that stuck up higher than I thought. Smashed the brace into the exhaust so we had a nice rattle and extra drone from the 2 touching the entire trip.

Nope, stock height. That cap stuck up about 5" :shakes head: It was hard to tell pulling in. I saw it but thought i could straddle it no problem. when i look at it from the other angle after hitting it I could see how high it really was. Need to look out when you get to truck country :icon14:

:shakes head::icon14: Honestly, the number of things I need to watch out for on the road, especially with a Nismo, is getting to the point of absurdity. Little dips in the road, roadkill, snowballs, inclines or declines of more than .5 degrees... I've held off measuring my actual road clearance bc when I find it out, my Z may never leave the garage lol.

-ZS-Carpenter 05-27-2019 02:54 PM

Drive shaft, shifter, undertray, front suspension member stay all out

http://www.the370z.com/members/-zs-c...pile-parts.jpg

Just need to remove the wiring harness, crank position sensor, starter and it should be ready to drop. Barring complications or laziness the trans should be out next sunday.

Ian B 05-27-2019 04:22 PM

Washed her and put coverall on tires.

A Black Z34 05-28-2019 12:03 AM

I, too, washed my Z and used some Woolite to tidy up the seats after a little coffee accident...stuff works wonders.

Really stuck on what test pipes to pair up with my short tails if anyone has any suggestions. YouTube hasn't helped lol

Ian B 05-28-2019 02:03 AM

Gonna get estimate for my rear window and quarter panel window tint redone. Previous owner had some bronze/brown looking color tint and his has bubbled lately w Texas heat.

I got my Evo R ducts test fit. They fit nice and flush. They'll be pulled back off and painted the body color and mounted with stainless steel black powder coated button head bolts.
