That's going to take your whole weekend. Depending on your skillset. Right side about 1 hour. The left side about 5+ hrs with a bunch of band aides and lots of cussing.

Put new wheels on the Z along with new rear rubber.

NissanTracker 03-26-2021 08:13 PM

Driver's side door handle stopped working on my 350z, please tell me that the 370z got upgraded door handle mechanics and better window regulator/motors. My first 350z I remember replacing the window motors at least twice on each side and the driver's side door handle once. The nismo only had a motor regulator reset once and now the door handle broke.

Anyways... got all the stuff for the oil catch can setup for the 370z. Was going to start fabbing a bracket for it, but brakes went out on my rav4... so had to change front calipers.

... always something

Gave the Z a nice wash and later finished it with the Griot garage 3 in 1 wax, amazing shine.

Damn, your not joking... Thing is popping! Lets talk about the Supra in the garage....

NissanTracker 03-28-2021 08:04 PM

Special order for OE style push switches in OEM amber came in. I am working on a backup camera with a front camera that I can manually turn on that faces the front lip.... prevent curbing it. I was unfortunate to bash my front lip on my 350z nismo a couple years back. Was so pissed. Another switch for the Fog lamp, and a 3rd for misc. I am selling the extras in the Market place, or PM me.

Anywho, the backup camera turns on automatically when going into reverse, but the front camera needs to be manually turned on (overriding the backup camera). I wanted an OE style switch to do this.

Damn... like, Damn damn. I'm peanut butter and jealous. Setting that bar high. Kids are spoiled ey?

Nothing like father and son time in a resto project... Especially this mouth watering Supra.

Just dropped my car off at the upholstery shop to get the bolster bar in the seat removed.

Stared in amazement at the warning light that my key fob battery was getting low. I had no idea that there was even a warning light for that.

I also discovered that popping the fob apart is not as intuitive as it seems. Well, popping it apart is intuitive, but popping apart the sections that expose the battery is not immediately intuitive.

You can get a PDF of the Owner's Manual at Nissan's website.

I didn't want to admit that I had to refer to that to open the fob, but you have forced my hand :wtf2:

I must admit that I was befuddled when I first popped it apart and didn't see a battery or any electronics. LOL! I couldn't see how to separate the other section easily and had to refer to my download of the Owner's Manual.

I'm glad I did this. The car is much more comfortable to drive! If only there was a way to get another inch, or two, of head room...lol. It's the morning that is the most annoying when my spine is decompressed. Still worth it though!

Only 10 weeks later, but finished the rears :) Long saga with rear jack point, no time due to kids, etc. but the Roadster is coming out of storage tomorrow! Went ahead and changed brake fluid to Motul, so only thing I haven’t touched on brakes is lines. I suspect this is going to be responsive enough for me.

Ceramic coated my wheels today. That's was fun .... Not.

Glass coated my windshield and rear hatch glass. The air is going to bead of this thing .. haha

Just finished wrapping it. Now waiting for the wheels to come back from powder coat

Today

... Gave her an Oil Change: FRAM Filter and 5W30 Royal Purple Synthetic... This is the first time I do the oil change since I've installed the Z1 Motorsports Aluminum Undershroud. It was amazingly simple - Two Bolts and the back of the Undershroud comes off to expose filter and drain plug - Only Two Bolts! I must have saved at least 10 minutes of removing and re-installing the plastic shroud and 16 bolts (using battery powered screw driver) and 3 clips otherwise. Yeah, Life is Good...

PPE headers on!! What an install that was...helluva a first car mod for me to install, but worth every cent and swear word...good thing I had my buddy to help.

No more rasp or drone from TPs...she’s actually quieter on start up and normal driving, but on WOT, I swear she sounds like a damn cup car...perfect combo with my Motordyne...

I received the base wheels I bought for snow tires this weekend. Now I just need to decide on studless or performance winter tires. I live in central Missouri so we don't always get a lot of snow and ice but we do sometimes. I'm probably going to end up going performance but we'll see. I read that Fall is the best time to buy winter tires so I have some time.

I'm also contemplating some spacers, thinking the standard 15/20 or 15 all around as I'm also thinking I want to try the 265 front/285 rear when I need new summer tires. I currently have PS AS/3s on there with a fair bit of tread and haven't had any traction issues. I'm debating PS4S vs Indy 500. At about $360 less with very similar ratings on Tirerack it's very tempting to try them out. That said, it will be at least a year, more than likely, before I need new tires.

I need to clean her up and take some pics but I'm lazy.
