Replaced the Akebono sport brake pads with the Akebono premium sport whatever pads. The pads didn't really need it, but the brake fluid was getting long in the tooth, so I figure I'm good for another 6years or 40k.

Them carbon fiber covers are superglued on those are staying :roflpuke2: I still need time/motivation to get nitrous hooked up. Or scrap that and go for topgunz supercharger kit.

I've had the front & rear "Z" badges on for quite awhile, but the center caps are new with the summer tire changeover.;)

Where’d you find the Z caps?

cubsfan51 04-27-2019 02:34 PM

DIY Center Caps

Got the blank caps at Amazon for $15 (also available in black for 2 bucks more)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073S67MNV

The stickers were from these guys in Ukraine for $9
https://3dcarstickers.com/product/ni...on-background/
You need to specify a size (50mm for the Amazon caps) and then be patient! I got notification of shipment about 10 days after my order and PayPal payment, but then it took another month before they showed up in my mailbox. I figure it got held up in customs, which they warn about on their website. Not sure if it was Ukrainian or U.S. Maybe both.

So for $24 I got a set of 4 "Z" center caps, which beat the Nissan-burgers any day!:tiphat:

Did some Tetris installing the larger 34 row Setrab core. 7 quarts of oil later and everything is running great.

Now i just need to save for the road-race fuel kit and some new 40 profile RS4s for the track wheels.

You have pics / description of how you did the upper mount for the cooler? I'm ramming my face into a wall trying to figure it out.

my original kit (stillen) doesnt use an upper mount. I used the existing hardware on my lower mount and it doesnt really move.

Got my car re-tuned and put on the dyno finally. Very happy about the responsiveness and numbers my Z laid down.

Yep. Times change.

I am old enough to remember when it was a big deal when new models of Fords, GMs, and to a lesser extent Chryslers came out. The dealerships would stay open after 5pm (big change!) and put the new cars on display on a weekday evening.

Seems like half the town would stop by to take a look. I think only the Christmas parade and HS football games drew bigger crowds.

I ran that for a few months, it gets the job done for sound.

Ian B 05-01-2019 02:23 PM

Cat exhaust installed and sounds great without drowning cabin. Unfortunately the tips are hitting the side of the bumper and Kevin was not able to adjust away from bumper. He suggested to take to muffler shop as they can fix it and avoid burning the bumper. Going tomorrow to see if a muffler shop near me can fix it. Meinke said they csn put heat on the hangers to bend and have tip not rest against the bumper and cause damage. Will post photo and sound later today.

I haven't posted in a while so here goes...bought some Bridgestone S007As and dropped off the OG TE37s for reconditioning to swap the CR2Ps out. I've been running the Work wheels since 2015 and they are a pain in the *** to clean. Plus I'm tired of looking at the Rays in my guest room.

After checking ground clearance entering my driveway and speed bumps in my neighborhood. I installed the factory front lip, left and right front air guides.

Remove the 3 bolts holding the hanger rubber doohickey. Add at least .25 inches of washers to each bolt between the car body and the triangle. That should give you space. It's what I did for my FI exhaust to level them out. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...37c6e24bd8.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...3fb889a1cc.jpg

Damn it, I had seen this exact same thing on YouTube and forgot all about it. Thanks for the idea. That will be a quick easy fix.

You're welcome! Enjoy not having to spend the $300 the shop would charge to heat and bend your hangers lol

Also, if you're still not satisfied with the alignment: your exhaust is basically two 10-12 foot long pipes with multiple angles and axes. Changing the angle of the pipes attached to the cats by a few degrees will produce a biiiiiig difference at the tips. It's a pain in the *** but you gotta loosen everything up a little bit and play with it

Today I finished up my stereo system install:

Pioneer H/U
Memphis Audio 2.75" in dash corners
JBL GT 6.5" in doors
Rockford Fosgate 8' powered subwoofer in cargo area directly behind seats

*I modified the two empty switch plates in the area with the cup holder to hold the volume knob for the subwoofer and the external USB for the H/U

I cleaned the entire car from its 300+ mile road trip I took on Monday. Inside and out.

I changed out the shift boot for a REAL leather one with matching stitching, as well as installed a new shift boot retainer and shift knob.

I changed out the interior lighting, cargo light, and license plate lights for bright LED bulbs.

...basically I was just putzing around. Easy little projects, but satisfying.

Rusty 05-01-2019 11:34 PM

The last couple of days, I've been busy.

Finish the up-grade from 2" brake duct cooling hose to 3". That was a PITA.

The front ARP front splitter is almost done. Just have to figure out some splash shielding in the front fender well.

Started to install the FE Designs fender vents.

Walked by mine sitting in the garage, hooked up to the battery tender. Too much rain and too many stupid people with brokeass cars on the road. :shakes head::shakes head:

I think mine is under a car cover somewhere still.....
