Finished the stereo install on a 2016 370Z nismo with Navi/ kept the factory head unit and replaced the tweeters/ front door speakers / rear speakers and amp…. Was much easier that i thought it would be…. After the fact of researching/splicing/testing the wrong wires…..ill save y’all from 17 pages of details but it all worked out in the end.

After my research I purchased the following:
1. Front speakers & tweeters: Hertz DSK 130.3 - Dieci Series 5-1/4" component speaker system
2. Rear speakers: Hertz DCX 87.3 - Dieci Series 3-1/2" 2-way car speakers
3. Subwoofer Box - I was really looking for a JL stealth box but could not find one…. So went with a 2X10” box from conceptenclosures.com - specifically built for our 370z’s
4. Amplifier - JL Audio RD900/5 - 5-channel car amplifier — 75 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms + 500 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms
5. Alpine W10S4 - BassLine Series 10" 4-ohm subwoofer (based the subwoofer decision on the size of the enclosure)

At the end of the day all is working as expected and I’m really happy with the outcome. Do want to get it tuned but sounds good (IMO) base on the tuning suggestions in the manual.

the attached diagram is what will be needed to need to splice into the harness coming from the factory head unit
Basically pins 1&9 and 2&10…

Morimotto's and Wing install :) big day for the Z, I know wings aren't for everyone but trying to keep the car unique opposed to the rest of the locals that just slam it with rims and a cbe

Ion, you need to adjust your wind angel it should be flat or 0* to the ground.

Well, I tried to install the base tune, from Specialty Z, last night and got an error. Looks like there might already be an UpRev tune on the car so I've reached out to a local shop that uses UpRev to see if they can flash it back to stock so I can install the ECUTek Tune. Hopefully they're able to!

:iagree: Definitely. My wing is a super low-drag design, and I still can feel the difference with it set at 0 AoA

Mine is set at 0* for track use. I was told that I may need to adjust it to +5* depending on the track. Generally speaking you want it between +5* and -5*. I think for street you want least drag setup as possible unless you don't care about fuel economy and top end performance.

I remember adjusting mine at the track just to see how different angles affect the handling. Even the slightest angle was too much. I lost 2mph on the back straight at MSR-H lol.

I did inquire about Aeromotions' dynamic upgrade so i can add DRS (mainly for a flex if im honest I'll just use it on the highway to troll). $2500!

Great news, the shop was able to revert me to the stock tune and I got the base tune from Seb installed and the first logs sent off to him. Weirdly, I didn’t notice much difference between the UpRev tune and the stock tune. That said, the throttle mapping in the lower revs is much better with the ECUTek tune! It’s hot as hell here right now so we’re just working on the warm weather tune lol.

A few months back I experienced a rotator cuff injury. Been on the mend since then. Certain movements are really painful, one of them being lifting a wheel and sliding it onto the studs. Even with light 3-piece wheels, the wheel+tire weighs 45-50 lbs. I was looking for some kind of aid to help me raise a wheel and hold it while I clocked it to line up the studs. At first I tried a floor jack but clocking the wheel was difficult. I decided to try a wheel dolly as it could perform both the lifting function and allow easy clocking of the wheel face to facilitate mounting. I couldn't be happier with the results and would recommend this to anyone in a similar situation. The dolly was about $125 and I picked up some rollerblade-type wheels for $25 because the original ones were crap. I had to build a plywood platform to add height when the car is way up on jack stands but, at lower levels, the dolly is all that is needed.

Tire Rack had an $80 rebate for purchasing in-stock winter tires so I went ahead and purchased some VREDESTEIN WINTRAC PROs I got them in base 18 inch wheel sizes and will be putting them on base wheels I purchased. I’m looking forward to seeing how the Z handles this winter!

It doesn't do bad, until the snow gets about 4" deep, then it's kind of a snow plow. :icon14:

I drove my 2012 daily, even in the snow. I did tell the folks at work that if we got more than 3" of snow, I wasn't coming into work. Too many idiots that don't know how to drive...:shakes head:

Yeah, I think I'll do the same. Just work from home if we get anything major.

Thanks for reminding me, I need to swap my conti extremes for the michelin AS4 on my subaru (at a minimum). The AWD was rendered useless this winter.

The magic is knowing if losing 2 mph on the straights is a big deal. You may gain time in medium to high speed turns. I run a lot of short tracks so 2 mph loss may not be as big a deal vs better handling and speed in the twisty stuff!
