Just got the car running and back from the shop on Thursday. And yesterday I got caught by a bag of wet plaster or some shìt that ripped off my RH front fender liner, undershroud and RH splash guard. LH front fender liner was also a casualty of being left hanging to rub against the tire :shakes head:

Not normally a user of snake oil (I'm looking at you, EW) but running this through the engine in between oil changes has resulted in SERIOUSLY decreased lifter chatter.

I never use any oil additives - I just change the oil when it needs it. IMNSHO, if you need additives, what you actually need is a different oil. YMMV

But, hey, if it provides you some benefit, then I'm all for it.

I might use something like the cleaner on an older car that I may have just bought and the PO didn't take care of the engine.

I did something with my Z. Took pics using my new lens.

It's not technically an additive. You dump your oil, slap a new filter on, pour the cleaner in, and idle for five minutes. Then you dump the cleaner, put another new filter on, and put in yer regular oil.

I run Red Line 5W30, have always had very loud chatter. It has seriously quieted down after I douched the engine with that stuff.

I'm curious now. I think the only time i noticed chatter was when i tried out amsoil. After going back to Redline, I didn't notice it.

I did enjoy running Motul 300V but that was a special occasion when i did a 2day track day. I swear it was +15hp haha

You can do the same thing with a 50/50 mix of oil and kerosene. :rofl2:

Whatever you call it, if you need the cleaner, you have a problem somewhere else (probably the choice of oil).

But it's difficult to argue with success. If you're using a high-quality oil and still getting noise that the cleaner eliminates, then who am I to say not to use it? I'm guessing it's the lube part, not the cleaning part, that is causing the noise reduction you are seeing and that you could get the same effect with the "right" oil.
