Thumbs down Cargo net from eBay

I ran across a cargo net for sale on eBay that claimed it was made for the 370z.

Link is here:

ENVELOPE STYLE TRUNK CARGO NET FOR NISSAN 370Z 2009-2016 09-16 2015 2014 2013 | eBay

Ordered it to check it out and it arrived yesterday. Unfortunately, although the price is right -- the part I was sent doesn't seem to be! It's actually longer on one side than the other, vs. being an actual rectangular shaped net like one would expect it to be.

I can't figure out any possible way to mount this net that doesn't look lopsided.

I don't know what you expected. The two photos of the Z hatch in the ad don't even show the cargo net installed. And none of the photos show the entire net in one photo. Sounds about right for eBay

I'm running a cargo net from a Prius that fits pretty good.... probably lowers my carbon footprint too.
Nixin and X2TheZ like this.

Actually, here is the ~3 year old thread I posted on it.

Finally - Perfect fit cargo net, reasonably priced!

If you stand way back at the right angle, it'll look square. Perspective you know.

Since it never showed a wide view of the net, I definitely would have avoided buying that one. After nearly 20 years on eBay, I've figured out quite of few of the bad seller tricks.

I have one that was from a MINI. It's got the stretched look but fits the Z's truck very well.

Haha, what are they trying to prove by having 2 different photos of a 370Z trunk WITHOUT the product anywhere to be seen?

Post Pics with no net attached ....

Yeah.... I found that suspicious too. And sure, I don't trust eBay that much. But the guy selling these had cargo nets for sale for all kinds of different vehicles, and had thousands of positive feedbacks. I figured the fact he showed correct photos of the 370Z hatch at least confirmed he knew which car it was.

I bought a net for my Genesis Coupe off eBay before, for a similar price, and it worked just fine. So I guess I didn't think it was TOO much to ask, to have him sell me something that would at least fit ok.

Anyway - I wrote to him to complain, and at least he replied, offering to help. I think a refund of my money is all that would help .... But maybe this will save one of you from buying from him and getting screwed.

I got this delivered on Tuesday. For the price I think it's pretty good. Except it seems smaller than pictured. It also comes with extra hooks in case your car doesn't have any I'm assuming. I will post pic tomorrow.

I'm not sure why I'm so confused by this cargo net

...because it's a giant waffle iron!

My cheap, highly effective cargo holder = 3 bungee cords.
