Don't feel bad. I had the oil starvation a couple of years ago when I went to lunch.
Didn't realize that my oil was low and ripped it around the corner. I paid a massive stupid tax because I had the car towed to the dealer and diagnosed. Could have pulled the battery cable and put in a new quart of oil. $210 later...
