As long as the engine is running the exhaust can be under water.

The guy in the video is still an idiot though.

Nope, a 370Z is not a boat or a submarine by any stretch of imagination ...

If it was a certain white Lotus Esprit, you might bet your money.

First off you never drive through a water filled area. You don't know how deap it is. Being from Cali, I guess you have never had to deal with flash flooding. This guy was an idiot.

As someone replied above, fortunately here in California I've never had to drive my Z on flooded road yet.

I just literally wondered why a 370Z in that movie failed to go through flooded road in its technical aspects, especially if some other cars could do it.

I'm perfectly comfortable, thank you. I was just giving you $hit for asking why a Z could not drive through that lake

The Z is a low car. That's the technical reason why it can't make it and other cars can. I didn't even watch the video, but I'm going to guess there were no other sports cars just inches off the ground driving through it.

You should never HAVE to drive your Z on a flooded road. If the road is flooded, dont' fuckin drive on it. I avoid puddles more than a couple of inches thick. I've even gotten honked at for stopping in a lane to wait for an opening in other lanes to avoid a puddle. Worth it.

"Sure, some sports cars or supercars might get lucky and plow their way through, like this*Lamborghini Gallardo*for example, except this*370Z*driver wasn't so fortunate and his choice to drive through that road didn't prove a wise decision after all."

The article said some sports car could. I just wondered why a Z could not - but now I understand that I missed the explaining part in that video.

Anyway we'd better stop here. I don't want to make any more troubles.

I gently reject the Darwin award.

The host explained it at the beginning. Water getting into the engine through the intakes. The car might be modified with CAI which may sit lower in the front bumper then stock air boxes, thus sucking in water at a lower level.

I was hosting a cruise through the hill country for a bunch of Houston folks several years ago when a sudden rainstorm hit. There wasn't even any standing water yet, but the guys running Stillen G3's insisted we pull over immediately due precisely to that concern.

JAR I have been caught out in brutal rainstorms mid road trips.... let's say it wasn't enjoyable. Standing water, streams of rivers in the grooved portion of the road. Hydro plane and tons of other fun.

Car was find but he'll if I saw a dip of water and I was driving I'd pull over and say **** it lol.
