You want the headlights to come on when you unlock the car remotely? If so, you're out of luck. That's not how Nissan designed them to function.

My GTI does this but I hate draining the battery for no reason so I have the feature turned off.

I don't know why one would want this feature. My STI's interior lights up as I walk up to the car which is nice. Not sure if my Z does dis??

U can tell I never park my Z any where. Only one time in 7 yrs I parked my car besides a gas station or my driveway/garage.

Our Honda Accord does it. But I'm with Kenchan - its unnecessary and just wastes battery.

I can turn my lights on with my phone, and off, but no feature on my Genesis that defaults to "light on-power on" feature.

All of my previous cars had it - mini JCW, GTI, bmw m1...
Was just wondering if any one know about some sort of coding that you can do to the car's computer...
And as for the reason, it's simple - my home road is pretty dark at night so it comes handy to have this feature
...

You cant code it. The German manufacturers use ECUs light years more advanced than the Japanese manufacturers

The 370z ecu is a hitachi.
Dont expect it to have the same capabilites the Bosch and Continental ECUs VW and BMW use

This is not a knock on the country of manufcture but the manufacturer themselves who tell the ecu makers what they need.
And its not just the 'gimmicky' customizable features inthe german ecus.; theres a reason canned tunes run flawlessly on german vehicles, hint its the stock ecus capabilities that allow that

Having owned German cars, I find the second half of this statement laughable.

You can set your interior lights to come on when you unlock the car, and you can set the amount of time you want your headlights to remain on when exiting the car, but I haven't tried to turn the lights on with unlock. I'll scroll through the on board computer tonight to see if I can find such a setting.

Therefore BMW's that don't allow battery change without going to the dealer to reset codes..."ultimate driving machine", simple battery death requires a tow truck. Price for "sophistication".

I'm still at an age where simplicity, intuitiveness, and reliability comes first for me.

agreed. considering the biggest flaw of all time on the Z (steering lock) is a german design, it is pretty silly dey make any claims on electronics.
