Omega Submariner? Maybe you mean Rolex?

I'm more of an Omega guy myself (currently have Planet Ocean 8500 and Seamaster Professional 300m). Not too familiar with Tag so I can't comment on the price. If it's an in-house movement, then the price is justified. If it's a modified ETA movement, eh, not so much.

Not a Tag fan myself, overpriced suburban shopping mall wares. To each their own, but that's a lot of cheddar for a relatively standard movement. Carrera does have some car racing lineage so I won't take that away from them, Gulf Racing has a Monaco edition as well.

That said, they should have teamed up with Tudor instead in my humble opinion.

$5k for the Nismo Tag... not bad but too much for that watch at that point. If you're going to buy a fancy watch to wear on occasions and not as a daily (plus are making enough to afford a $5k Tag) save up a bit more and buy a damn Rolex haha.

My daily watch is a $600 Tommy Bahama that is awesome! Other than that I have my $3500 Tag for occasions
That watch is pretty nice though.

My thoughts exactly! What's next, a Ford Z/28 SS Camaro? While it is a nice watch, it is quite overpriced for what it is. That's coming from someone with a HUGE watch fetish.

I looked at Rolex's whole catalog and I don't really like any of them. Could y'all throw out some other watch manufacturer names? You also talked about movement. In house, ETA? Are there others? I want to research some of this stuff. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure the "carrera" line is not based on a Porsche. Carrera means race in Latin based languages. So it's just a line that was developed to target racing enthusiasts.

U are correct "seamaster chrono"... submariner is a rolex nomenclature

its titanium with 18 carat rose gold, not flashy but now a collector item as the prices indicate,,its gone up substantially in last few years but I bought it used at a great price..appreciating more than my Z is

Lots of watches out there that has their own movement. Try Patek Philippe or IWC to name a few.

Love my Tag Nismo! I was the only one in US to have one back in Dec...
