Glad to see you guys getting decent discounts. I was going to shoot for 27k OTD after ALL fees for a base model.

in Sept. 15 bought new MB 2016 Sport with everything but that mirror gizmo for $34K + tax.. the 3 sacramento dealers (all owned by same guy) were $4K higher..
went to SF and the dealers and they were dealing, all were close but I went with the guy closest to me, still 2 hour drive but for $4K....

Let me ask y'all this. I had a 2012 Frontier 6 speed, Completely different vehicle I know, but it was powered by a VQ with supposedly the same 6 speed as the 370.

I loved the truck, and it was quick for what it was, but I was not a fan of how the clutch acted. It took me something like 8,000 miles to learn how to drive it smoothly. I Had 4 Nissan trucks with manuals prior to it that I was able to shift smoothly with no effort at all.

Basically when driving I had to wait a second for the revs to drop between shifts before letting he clutch out. Anytime I wanted to drive spirited it felt like the clutch had some slip to it if I shifted very quickly.

How does the 370 act in normal cruise conditions between shifts? Some were saying the Dual Mass Flywheel is why the Frontiers act the way they do.
Never drove a Frontier so can't comment on that clutch, but had stock 370Z clutch pedal then went to RJM pedal. The stock one never bothered me too much but CSC worried me and Ryan at RJM claims that the pedal can eliminate this issue.

In nearly 4 years on this forum, never saw anyone claim a failed CSC with the RJM pedal and mine has performed well for 3 1/2 years (knock on wood). Oh yeah, while the stock pedal never bothered me too much, I definitely prefer the RJM one. It will be easier to shift smoother between the gears, especially 1 & 2.

I skipped out on it and ended up paying up to get it there. AND I still dont have SRM. Price difference shouldn't be too much anyway.

HAHA! If I can get one with the Sport Package for less than 30k OTD, I might go for it. I'm already spending too much for a car that will get 90 miles a day. I won't be tracking the car so I think I'm ok without the Bigger brakes, and I've gotten by for years with several manuals without SRM.

I prefer the Base model 18 inch wheels, but I would really like them with the Alloy Finish. It looks like all the 16 models have a Black finish.

Yeah, but you'll still be lacking the LSD unless you want to spend $1500 or so to put one in. And a sports car with an open diff shouldnt exist.

That logic is a bit off IMHO: if its 'too much' to spend on a commuter you should be looking for....an appliance/commuter. You can get a killer deal on a used VW these days, say nice TDI. Seriously I would be in one myself had I not already gotten my commuter diesel a few years ago Sports package itself new wasn't a lot of $ so used the delta should also not be too much on the car.

I drive 100M round trip to my customers, so I commute in the Z (as well as other cars in the stable). The Sports package is still worth it for the things you can't just add to the car easily: SRM, larger brakes etc...

When I get cut off by an asshat, the brakes are nice to have. And when I duck off the highway and take a few back roads in the sports car...I'm reminded why its a sports car.

As much as I strongly recommend the sports package, if I was given the choice of a base Z vs a Honda accord to commute in...the base Z still would be a hoot.

Well I guess there needs to be at least one person that recommends the Sport/Touring package, so that will be me. I like all the extra stuff. But I gotta say, in consideration of a '15 or '16 Honda Accord EX coupe with V6 and 6-spd man., it was s tough choice for me. If I had chosen the Honda, I could have sold off my '97 Maxima 5-spd man. and lowered my insurance too. It was a tough choice for me, both great cars in their own way.

The Idea is to get something Sporty. I won't be drag racing the car so the LSD is not a must. I could buy a car much more expensive, but knowing how fast the miles will accumulate makes me not want to. Surely the base brakes are better than my current 95 Hardbody. I'm not big into mods so I won't be trying to make it something it's not.

I'm probably going to stick with new because I don't want to wrench on anything for a good while. Fluid changes are all I want to do. Initially the idea was to get a CPO G37 sedan, but for not much more $ I can get a new Z, and still have manual trans. I know there are some 6 speed G37 sedans out there, but I have yet to see one.

I have daily driven my 370 for the last 14 months. NO complaints aside from stupid stuff breaking that Nissan doesn't fix like your already aware of. And I live in Nebraska. You can do it and you wont be disappointed, although if your getting a base model you can definitely look used.
