You don't want the middle to explode this time, though.

What, you gonna say a third pedal is for p&ssies now?

A true man can drive the snot out of a miata, pass the high HP cars in
the turn, all while being called every name in the book.

Man up. Build character. Get a miata.

Man up and Miata cannot be used in the same sentence.

As for your comment about the third pedal, I have no hatred against manual cars. I just have hatred for idiots who undying back them like they will never be matched or surpassed in any way, shape, or form. Also the unwavering manual idiots who's only fall back argument is that makes it an "enthusiasts" car......nice try

Yeah, some manual drivers talk like serious jerk-dyck fahgutz. They act holier than though in the car arena, like they chose the bestest purest most blah blah blah.
And speed times never matter to them anymore. But I'm old enough to remember when manuals were faster and the reason why people bought them... because they were faster.

It's my opinion, manuals are for slow cars. Frs and Mazda 3 is perfect. Paddle shifts are the wisest choice for men that live in the triple digits of their vehicles. It's MORE CONTROL from the safety aspect of control.

Both have their strengths n weaknesses.

I just don't see how paddles are safer for high speeds, or high power. Cars should come with both so that the choice is with the driver.

Driving a Miata is like riding a girls bicycle; you can do it, they are fun but you don't want anyone to see you having fun riding a girls bike or driving a Miata.

I had 2 1997 Miata's. A few years ago took a friends salvaged Miata for a project and daily beat around the neighborhood car. Ended up completely and slowly restoring 95 percent of it. It's relatively easy to work on, inexpensive to drive and maintain. With the right suspension up grades and tires, this is absolutely a blast to drive. The two vehicles, other than have 4 wheels to ride on and one to steer with, are not really in the same class for all the reasons stated in this thread. I sold the Miata for the Z, only because I craved power. The Miata is not a speed demon, and not designed to be. It corners fantastic, loves country roads, loves to be driven hard. I'm a big guy at 5'10 225 lbs and it was very comfortable for me to drive, even for long distance travels. I would not hesitate to p/u another gen 1 or 2 to wrench on. The cost of a new one is not worth it, but if Mazda bumped up the HP to 190/200. It would be so much better.

Listen, some guys are metrosexual. So they like Miatas and Minis. To them it expresses their essence. Some guys are the "hairy chested" types who drink cheap domestic beer, burp loud, vote for Trump, etc. They like cars like the Hellcat or 'Maro with a big burly V8, and wouldn't drive no "foreign junk." Some guys are otakus and know everything JDM and memorize minutiae about the Z or GT-R. These guys typically hang out with other otakus and say Japanese phrases. Some guys are balding, middle aged, and compensate by driving uppercrust imports like M4s, Ferrari 458s, and the like.

To each his own, right?....But 370 drivers........are men!

I'm like an Asian hick who drinks craft beers, with a hairless chest, running a big (in japan) 3.7 NA engine that has a receding hairline that also has otaku tendencies that only wished to on a lambo.

uhh what does that make me?
