I have never like Tires Plus either. I went in there once to get tires on my truck. They were going over things and I said I just want tires and no other BS. I was sitting there with my Dad and this older gentleman had a 2 or 3 year old Impala and they told him he needed his brake fluid changed because it was becoming corrosive. 3 year old car. No. I was a mechanic and aircraft mechanic no way brake fluid in a car thats 3 years old starts to corrode...
Once I went in to a dealer (not my Z) and said my clutch was spongy and losing fluid and I think the slave cylinder needs to be changed. The service writer said the fluid is boiling and thats why and that they would change the master cylinder....... I couldn't believe what I heard. I went in to the service manager, slapped down my Airframe and Powerplant license (FAA license to work on aircraft) and said no way in hell the clutch fluid boiled and that I work on jet engines and that was all BS. Got a free slave cylinder and labor free after that... |

Getting tires in a few weeks.. Bringing just the wheels to the shop. Will R&R the wheels myself. This thread does give me an idea of one more thing to look at. Will inspect each wheel on the spin balancer before leaving.
* proper tire mounted to proper wheel (staggered, narrow tires go on narrow wheel) * bead properly seated on both sides of each wheel * Asymmetrical tire - side labeled "outside" mounted to the outside of the wheel * tpms actually rebuilt * Will remove weights before i bring the wheels in * No damage to wheels * valve core snug

Let me get this straight, you had your wheels mounted at a "reputable shop" and it's wobbling... And you are claiming Tires Plus is a joke. WHATTTT??? ![]() |

I have to agree with some of the comments in here. Let's focus at the root problem and assume the wheel could be considered straight. Did you ever find out why the wheel or the tire wobbled? Was it the whole assembly wobbling (sign of a wheel bolted incorrectly)? Or was it the tire mounted "crooked" (sign of a bead, or both, seating incorrectly)? Or both?
This shows that whether it was a "reputable" shop or a shop that's considered "BS" are the same on one aspect, they can make a mistake. Regarding Tires Plus comment, were they given a chance to take off the wheel and tire assembly from the car for inspection or was it just a "tire-kicking" look-see at the parking lot? |

The tires look to be balanced properly and it is the only wheel out of the 4 that is having this issue. I still do not know the cause of the issue at this point. |

Even if the weights fell off, the wheel would not wobble. There would be a vibration felt at speed, but the wheel should still roll straight.
To draw an informed conclusion we need answers to the question in post #16. Any wheel spacers involved?

^^Did you actually see this wobble or lack there of in person while the wheel was on the spin balancer?
If it was spinning straight then it has to be a mounting issue on your car.
